Over three years here and sometimes I'm still surprised by certain views of the campanile.

Police in the UK are accused of widespread abuse of requesting location data (both real-time and historical) from mobile carriers and then selling it to journalists, who used it to chase down politicians, public figures and news stories. (NYT reports confirmation from more than one source.) Whoa.

All the security and privacy laws in the world won't beat someone with physical access to the machine... people used to say that there was a bar in Swansea (where the UK driving licence data was held) where a pint or two was all it took to get five of those nasty points taken off your license... because the machine room operators used to go there.

The friendly Thai-speaking staff are kind and helpful (both when I come here with one person or arrange ahead of time for a group of 20+). The food is tasty if not authentically spicy.

Super small (charmingly so) and unfortunately closes in the early evening. Produce is fresh and just varied enough. Nice neighborhood feel.

I work here all the time, and regularly have croissants and iced tea for breakfast. It gets overcrowded at times (weekend afternoons; finals), but it's really a nice place. Power and WiFi are available. Staff is friendly and knows my order by heart.

Nice selection of both popular and artsy movies. Great to have a little theater like this in the neighborhood.
