August 10, 2015 A Topeka, Kansas policeman responding to a house alarm shoots and kills the family dog (26 pounds) because it was charging at him.

“I went and looked in the front yard and saw a police car. I came back around and he was bent down. Josie was running toward him. It was her yard and she didn’t know him. And he shot her twice and killed her.”

Coyote Encounter 12/29/2014 3:00 am EST
I was  walking my German Shepherd a few hours ago.  (Heck, I'm retired and can keep these ultra-late hours.)  While walking down a street heading to a marsh not far from my home, my dog Bree started barking and within about 2 seconds I saw what caused her to bark - a coyote! Surprisingly, the coyote kept slowly approaching.  My dog Bree was in no mood to run away and neither was I for that matter. Still, my big fear was for the neighbors.  (German Shepherd's barking is somewhat LOUD and it was 3:00 am!!)  So, not wanting to turn my back on a coyote I walked backward up the street with Bree constantly facing and barking at the coyote.
Unlike what you see on the news, this was an interesting and uneventful encounter. Still I thought it would be worth sharing this story with my Google+ friends.

The consequences you incur when you reluctantly concede to someone's request for help with their computer:

If someone asks you for computer help, pretend you're dumber than a sack of hamburgers.

Yes, I was in a garage band in the 1960's and this was one of THE songs you HAD to know!!!  If you couldn't play this you didn't exist.  It was one Hell of a time for playing music, making music, dancing, and just plain living.  For those younger folk that want to berate this music that's fine with me.  But 40 years from now, you think you can look back and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the 60's?  I don't think so.

Yes John, whether it was a basement band or a garage band it was one heck of a good time.  And I was in high school during that "Summer of Love" era.  I remember meeting a great many lovely lasses during those times and it was great to be around so many fabulous females.

Gee, I notice April Fool's Day pranks and hoaxes are cropping up all over the Internet.  I have never been a fan of April Fool's Day pranks and this is NOT another one.
Has April Fool's Day ever caused any harm?  I suggest you seek some information about a tsunami which struck Hilo, Hawaii in 1946 - April Fool's Day.

It is August 6th, 2015. Seventy years ago an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. This bomb had the equivalent energy of about 20,000 tons of TNT. This HUGE amount of energy was generated by converting one GRAM of matter into energy. (One gram of matter is about the mass of ONE PAPER CLIP !!!)

This was posted by one of my Facebook friends.  It is from this news article: http://thehill.com/policy/defense/244883-bush-you-need-boots-on-the-ground

I'm posting this because I am curious if my Google+ friends are not as conservative as my Facebook friends.  Basically, I was the only one to say I found President "Boots On the Ground" Bush to be rather hypocritical. When it was HIS turn to put HIS boots on the ground in the Vietnam War, he opted to join the Texas National Guard and never left the United States.  I am not making a political point in the least.  It's just that I was of draft age during the Vietnam War and hearing this kind of talk from "summer soldiers" and "sunshine patriots" always aggravated me.  Well what do you folks think?

I just finished a page on my website concerning how to draw the taijitu.  (yes, it's what most people call the "yin yang" symbol).  You can easily make this with your own computer.  http://www.1728.org/taijitu.htm

Guess I'll make the first comment.  To me, if you're going to do a version of this song - make it fun!! The Crush have a LOT of fun performing this song.  Most importantly - any version of this song MUST use the cowbell and the Crush certainly realized the necessity of including it in their rendition.

Tremendous live version.  And unlike the 1960's live version (which I like a LOT) this one uses the cowbell.  Sure you can view and listen to all the other videos of this song - but the best version belongs to the Tremeloes.
