Would you trek across the country for a first date? Matchmaking startup The Dating Ring is offering to fly New York City women to San Francisco and Bay area men to the Big Apple, in order to bridge a gender imbalance in both cities. To fund these cross-country trips, the company has launched a Crowdtilt campaign, which, so far has raised $3,180 of its $10,000 goal.

A question you should never ask a woman?  Ms. Sole, I hate to break this news to you, but it's physically obvious when someone is (or was) pregnant.   Your horror that someone asked you when you were due is beyond ridiculous.  I'm sure the woman meant no harm (considering it to be small talk) and was embarrassed enough to find out that you had already given birth, but you believed you had to further PURPOSEFULY chastise her because you were no longer due.   Please get over yourself.  Furthermore, "when are you due"  isn't one of  the most intimate questions nor is it rudely prying into your life.   You'll recall that  your "due date" will be publicly recorded on your child's birth certificate, will be celebrated each year (usually very publicly), and will appear on your child's driver's license.   I can't tell from your story, but it's possible the "offending" woman had previously given birth (or maybe she will in the  future), and she didn't realize that she was talking to someone with such a fragile ego.

Ready or not, the newest wedding trend is here: Ambush weddings. They’re “gotcha” nuptials thrown for unsuspecting guests who believe they’ve been invited to say, birthday drinks or a dinner party. Once they arrive — surprise! — they’re about to attend a wedding, thrown by the sneaky hosts.

Checking your partner's email account is stalker-crazy, right? Well, what if was your email too? On Sunday, the Daily Mail reported that actress Cate Blanchett shares an email account with her husband of 16 years, playwright Andrew Upton. “We work together and it’s a way of synchronizing our lives. I can see what he’s up to – it’s not that I don’t trust him,” she told the newspaper, adding that she checks his messages because Upton "hates email."...

We already know that men and women are wired differently, but it turns out we're even different in our sleep. A study published in the journal Sleep found that the two genders experience unpleasant dreams very differently.

Call it the biggest Facebook mistake ever: A daughter’s brag on the social networking site has cost her father $80,000, which he won in a settlement during an age discrimination lawsuit.

A police sketch so laughable for its subject’s resemblance to a cartoon Muppet has proven successful after it helped nab a criminal on Tuesday who allegedly robbed two women at knifepoint in Texas.
