Are Yamaha Golf Cars made in America? We are occasionally asked this, answer is absolutely YES. The Yamaha Golf Car factory is in Newnan, GA. Frames are built by robo-welders from the ground up, body parts are made on site using the latest plastic molding machines, and the assembly line is staffed with US personnel, mostly from the surrounding area. The vehicles are NOT imported partially assembled from China or Japan.

Another Cunningham Golf Car/Yamaha partnership event was held yesterday, May 27, The Greg Norman Collection Pro-Lady Championship at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood.  21 teams vied for three different titles: Team Champions (which counted the 2 best net scores of the foursome), Pro+A Champions (which pairs the Professional and their lowest handicap index team player in a best ball format) and low professional honors.
Blake Watts of Hurstbourne Country Club continued his stellar 2014 season firing a 5-under-par round of 67.  He edged out Greg Meadors of Greenbrier Golf and Country Club by one shot. Chris Redle of Wildwood Country Club finished with 2-under-par rounds of 70.
Speaking of Wildwood Country Club, the team of Cooke Whitehouse, Inger Danner and Anita Butler and lead by Jesse Hughes played to impress with a round of 30-under-par 114 to take the Team Championship by 2 shots over the Andover Country Club team, lead by Vincent Prather and 3 shots ahead of Redle’s Wildwood team and Robert Costello’s Hurstbourne squad.
Eric Gilliland recruited some great collegiate golfers for his team.  He and “A” partner Cylia Damerau combined for a gross best ball of 64 to take the title by two shots over home club rivals David Shearn and defending Champ Susan Stewart, Hurstbourne’s Austin Meyer and Sherry Leavell and h0st Professional Chris Osborne and Kentucky Golf Hall of Famer Joan Rizer.
A very special thank you to title Sponsor, Greg Norman Collection and representative, Aaron Welch who provided a fantastic tee gift, as well as to Cunningham | Yamaha and representatives Mark Jackie and Bob Nesmith who again hosted a Par-3 Challenge on Hole #5.  Closest to the pin (for amateurs and professionals) on this hole received a great gift basket from Taste of Kentucky.  The winners of this contest were Chris Osborne and Sherry Leavell.  $400 was raised for the Nelson County Girl Scout Council, on behalf of Lexmark.
