Brunch at Sable may have impressed my small town Michigan family but it did not impress my Chicago pallet. Everything on the menu sounded amazing but at a half win loose ratio I'm rounding down. I thought we could just walk in 20min before our 9:45am reservation with no problem, but apparently people make reservations at 8am!? They did apologize for the wait and offered us coffee, even though we were early, 1 point Sable. We were right next to the kitchen so its hard to not have good service but our waiter was very helpful and peppy. I got a caffeine buzz just from a cup of coffee being poured next to me. The fresh squeezed orange juice is good but the portion size is huge, like 500 calories (estimate) huge, but clearly I couldn't waste any! As instructed we shared all dishes family style, half portion between 4: Pull Apart Butterscotch Monkey Bread 7, couldn't hold a flame to my grandmothers. Too much bread, not enough butterscotch goodness. House Cured Salmon Gravlox: pickled red onions, pumpernickel 10, loved by my Swedish grandmother, and everyone else. The thick dill shmear really made this dish for me as I'm not a salmon fan. Maine Lobster Frittata: potatoes, chives, corn, oven dried tomatoes 11, was good but too many potatoes. Here's a hint $11 for a hockey puck sized frittata shouldn't have any fillers, like potatoes. Lacked that sparkle for me, but enjoyed by my less judgey family. Espresso-Cocoa Nib Steak & Eggs: farm eggs, steak, hash browns 15, was definitely a winner. The steak was super tender and flavorful and a very good sized portion. Three Sister's Grits with White Cheddar 4 were delicious and comforting and the same size porting as all of the entrees! Definitely recommend adding a side of these! We ate light and didn't have booze, our check was around $72 for 4. I would be up for trying dinner but I won't be back for brunch, too many other places to try!

This place is listed on one of the Top 20 Chicago cocktail spots for good reason, but what nobody mentioned was the amazing food. I went and got the chicken & waffles as was SO impressed. Very tender chicken, an amazingly soft & sweet belgian waffle and this bourbon infused pure maple syrup that makes you want to drink it by itself as a dessert. It's one of the best chicken & waffle dished that I've had. As for the bar area, it's a well-laid out lounge-next-to-bar kind of feel and the cocktails do not disappoint. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and will not lead you wrong. It's just really good.

The food is excellent the wait staff superb my fiancee and I were looking for somewhere to unwind after a long work week and there we went worth every dime an our waiter neal courteous friendly just a cool dude me an my future wife have found our unwind spot recommend all to try it

Can't even count how many times I've been here, mostly for drinks. The food can be a little hit or miss. The flatbreads, tuna tostadas, and lentil cakes are quite good. Avoid the corn creme brûlée at all costs even if the server recommends it. Probably one of the worst things I have ever tried, sadly on two separate occasions. The drinks are obviously awesome (ask for the Board of Directors which is no longer on the menu, but you can still order). But don't ignore their wine and champagne selection. Unlike the violet hour, it's also nice that you can order a vodka soda or jack and diet if you're not in the mood for a fancy cocktail (thank you for being a hotel bar!).

Sable offers options for small or standard plates for most of the menu items, which is nice. The food I had was really good, but there were a few things on the menu that they were out of or had 86ed. Unfortunately, those items were the ones I wanted to try the most. The drink menu was decent but not outstanding, and our waiter was very friendly. There is also a good amount of outdoor seating.

What a flavorful menu, each dish is small (if you take the 1/2 portion) but an explosion of flavors, the ambience is loud but not overwhelmingly so, the service is outstanding and attentive. One more comment, pair your drinks carefully with your meals, they have it, you just have to be ready to select it.
