Are you curious?
Are you a developer?
If yes, do you ask questions?
Let me ask! What's the tech product you use everyday? So common that you don't realize how does it work?
Laptop :P Wrong!!!!

Its your phone! Technically known as SmartPhone but POPULARLY known as Android Phones :P
What do you on it? Call, See the time _, Alarms! Listen to songs, Whatsapp, SMS, etc.
Did you ever ask yourself how it must be working?
How useful your GPS enabled phone can be? Cab, Restaurants suggestions, travel details, etc.
How whatsapp works on slow internet speeds?
How flipkart gives you suggestions based on your interests?
How ? How ? How ?

Lets try to answer these questions! Lets learn! Lets make an android app!

The event which we have been building up to is here.
Google Developer Group IITG (along with GSG, CSEA and Coding Club) invites you to the first hackathon of this semester. Hackathons are a lot of fun (don't take our word for it, ask someone who's gone to one before!), as developers and designers sit together in teams to develop an application
from scratch. When you see everyone around you hacking away at their
laptops, you'll be all the more motivated to keep going.
The Chrome Extensions Hackathon is being held on 12th Oct (Sunday) in the conference hall. You have to register as a team (of maximum 4 people) here:
http://goo.gl/gSpZbU

The schedule is as follows:
10:00 am - 10:30 am : Idea presentation (Just to let everyone know who's
working on what)
10:30 am - 1:30 pm : First Session (Planning, dividing work, getting
familiar with the requirements, starting development)
1:30 pm  - 2:30 pm  : Lunch Break (We are trying to arrange for some food,
but we can't make any promises right now :| )
2:30 pm  - 4:30 pm  : Second Session (Developing the extension)
4:30 pm  - 5:00 pm : Break
5:00 pm  - 7:00 pm  : Third Session (Finishing touches, wait who are we
kidding...Debugging!!)
7:00 pm  - 8:00 pm  : Presenting the final extension

Venue: Conference hall (next to the auditorium)
Date: 12th Oct, 2014
Time: 10:00 am

Please contact us on  gdgiitguwahati@gmail.com in case of any queries.

Have you seen those nerds tapping over keyboards everyday with a black box on the screen? Did it seem boring for the first time?
Hi everyone!
Welcome to the very first event by GDG IIT Guwahati and CSEA.
You know what that's not new. Everybody feels the same way for the first time. But that is what programming is about. Just tap on keyboard over a black screen and voila.......
You hacked a computer :D
Oh! You just added two 10000 digit numbers in few microseconds.
Whoa! You can play 2048 on that black screen ;)
You can even write the name of your crush in colorful colors ..... Oooooo

Wanna know the rules of this game (well we call it "syntax" by the way)? Then do come over.

Google Developer Group IITG, along with Google Students Group and CSEA, is organizing a hands-on session on 9th Oct (i.e. tomorrow) in which you'll get an opportunity to build a Chrome Extension along with Shreyas Basarge, a 4th year BTech student who has taken part in numerous hackathons and won a few of them too! (Check out a Chrome extension which he built: http://tinyurl.com/quoralater). We hope this will give you greater insight into the process of building an extension.
Please bring a laptop with any text editor installed (Notepad++ :
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.6.9.html) and Google Chrome
browser (obviously).
For those of you who didn't attend the last talk, please go through the

Please see the  suggested links by the speaker +Rahul Kadyan :
-------------------------------------------------------------
1. Start with: http://www.jefvlamings.com/b…/chrome-extensions-for-dummies/
2. Read from: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions
3. Find solutions at: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/…/google-chrome-extension
4. Manifest Reference: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/manifest
----------
I suggest go through the first link and start creating extensions. If need something then find solution from Google or link 3 and if you need you can find details of the solution from link 2.
