an archive of songs about This Day In History, by a man with his own long catalogue of them.  I'm really looking forward to this.  Lots of my historical understanding comes to me through art.
Announcing the Song News Network Once a year or so, some of the lazier journalists working for outlets like the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Guardian feel compelled to ask this question in a headline. Or it ...

Spike and Lea are playing on the north island!

A chance for our Sydney friends to come and see us (Thursday 17th Dec 2015) - and hear some jazz - and experience Cameron's secret home made percussion instrument? I've realised now that every body likes jazz - even those who say they don't - deep down in their souls they know it's the best music around... and that's what we'll be playing in Sydney's best acoustic jazz venue. Peace
Spike and Lea Mason will be once again visiting the North Island to play their annual duet show at Colbourne Ave. Lea will create her new melodious in...

I pretty much only use google+ to check in to places - to help me remember what band i saw at the Vanguard that day, or which venues i went to in Berlin. Not so much for the facebook-style chatting.
Introduction
Last time I checked I was the only Andrew Lórien in the world.  amazing, huh.  but if you were completely unsure, i'm the web programmer guy who lives in Sydney and goes to lots of live music festivals and runs that little jazz club in glebe.

Exactly like a jazz club. The lighting, the furniture, the drinks, the music - you could be in The Basement in Sydney, the Blue Note in New York, or SunSide in paris. Great sound too, the two nights i was there.

I was there last night. The music was great, the beer was tasty, and 24 hours later I'm still thinking about the Moroccan lamb... Yum.

The front room is beautiful, the chocolates are fantastic, but the dining room and performance room out the back are also beautiful

A proper community. Dozens of craft beers, and you'll probably find a brewer in the house. Simple, great food. Quality local (and occasionally international) music. And bowls! It's my local, and i wouldn't spend a weekend afternoon anywhere else.
