Cake Buffet! Not as good as I had hoped...

Any of the +Google Chrome Developers or +Paul Irish have any tips on how to style the Chrome calendar picker? I'm looking at giving it the same appearance as used in the twitter bootstrap framework so it ties in nicely with my application.

I got the new +Google Chrome date picker thing today. I must say that I'm underwhelmed. It suffers from some severe usability issues (just try selecting a date that isn't within the current year). Its a step forward from the jQuery stock date picker but it really needs the month and year to be able to be selected independently of each-other (as is configureable in the jQuery UI date picker).

All that being said it a great step forward, I'm sick of having to pull in the jQuery UI library just for date selection.
Date Picker landed on Chrome Canary and Chromium!

By specifying type="date", input element shows little triangle next to its input box. By clicking it, users can now use date picker to fulfill the date parameter far easier than ever without any JavaScript!
<input type="date" min="2010-08-14" max="2011-08-14" value="2010-08-14"/>

Try it on HTML5Rocks slides: http://slides.html5rocks.com/#new-form-types

Found a great tool for managing my git workflow - SmartGit. Its amazing how much this has made it a breeze for managing my commits. Instead of just committing whatever I'm working on, I can now separate the component changes into individual commits easily. Unlike other git clients, it doesn't hide away the full power of git - it makes it more accessible.

Make your dynamic application behave like it should with bookmarks.js - a tiny script that enables you to define states for the back and forward buttons of the users browser. Gets rid of some usability problems associated with ajax.

Made green curry chicken for dinner last night. It was really good thanks to the super fresh green curry paste from the markets next door.
