I did not want to leave. Everyone who worked there were so warm and welcoming and helpful in every way.Spent 3 nights of fun and reception was there on Saturday, fun yoga Saturday morning. Food was great, hot tub, pool, outdoors was wonderful. Michelle and Victoria were great. The owner was friendly and down to earth and fun to converse with. My first time to Colorado, and I Will go back, and to Chipeta.

I know nothing about the hotel rooms. But I can tell you about the spa. It is very accommodating, very good massage therapist. If you like deep tissue therapy ask for Windham a British name, forgot his last name. Also my husband had one at the same time from Mary Jane. It is awesome after four wheeling in the area. This place is not recommended because it is way to good. I actually would have stayed another half hour if I could have. Highly recommended.<3 August 1, 2013

Ridgeway is where John Wayne filmed True Grit. Nice location. As always there are real issues: slow internet for one. Hey this isn't the Ritz. If you want that go to Denver.

We spent two nights at Chipeta Solar Springs Resort for our anniversary. Stayed in the Crow Canyon room which overlooked the pool/courtyard, had a private hot tub and a great mountain view. The hot pool was not working on day one, and we generously received free access to the Orvis Hot Springs (near town). Had dinner at the Four Corners Café. Live music provided by Steve Felberg. Chef (Alex) spoke to us and everything he prepared was delicious (artichoke and French onion soups, mussels, trout and lamb chops). This guy is a star chef, who you will hear about!! The couples massage spa treatment got the kinks out after a long drive to Ridgway. Don't forget to grab a fresh hot chocolate chip cookie (made throughout the day) and then hop on the available bikes for a ride in the most beautiful part of Colorado! We'll be back - and stay longer next time.

I was very disappointed and offended by the way Chipeta management handled my reservation. My friend and I travel with our service dogs frequently with no problems or hassles whatsoever. Unfortunately the experience with Chipeta was unsatisfactory. They asked unlawful questions that are not allowed by the ADA (American Disabilities Act) and my friend and I found it offensive that we were asked to explain and justify why we required service dogs. This is illegal. It was clear Chipeta was more concerned with charging a pet cleaning fee (illegal under the ADA guidelines) and putting us in one of the special pet friendly rooms rather the room we had reserved (illegal under the ADA guidelines) than they were interested in accommodating two people with service dogs. Epic fail, Chipeta. We cancelled our reservation and will recommend that you consider whether or not you want to support this non-ADA compliant establishment.

THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!! I have never written a review for anywhere I've stayed. But they went above and beyond to make our stay as stress-free and perfect as possible. Upgraded for free since a nicer room was available. Breakfast could be better, then again I woke up late. Perfect location in town. you don't realize your in a city when your on or around the resort. However you can walk to town in 2 mins. SPA was fantastic!!!STAY HERE STAY HERE. STAY HERE. STAY HERE. STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I stayed here Thurs. Sept 26, 2013. It was HORRIBLE. Room was dirty. Black mold arounf top of tub. Windowrs so dirty it was hard to see out of. Blinds on windows had so much dust on them you could write on them. To top it off the Jacuzzi/hot tube on the deck had a birds nest on the horizontal log above it. I listed my complaints to the desk clerk on check-out. ALSO, The hotels web-page pictures make theitr rooms appear spacious. In fact they are very small and cramped. I also emailed the hotel on Oct 7, 2012 and NO RESPONCE from them.

Not pet friendly. My husband I stayed there during spring break. I paid extra to bring our dog too. Our room was really small and shabby, which I wasn't too surprised about given that it is the pet room; however, I was really surprised to find dried up bits of old kibble and hair ties on the floor. One morning my dog started sniffing around a curtain and I found an old, mushed up grape. I was really dissatisfied at how filthy the room was, but the icing on the cake was finding a dirty old grape which would have been toxic for my little dog if he had ingested it. Not only was the service substandard, but the room was a hazard for my dog. My husband and I visit Ridgway and Ouray at least twice a year, but we will not be visiting the Chipeta Lodge again.
