It’s that time of year! Do you remember the old Advantix commercial with the adorable puppy singing, “There ain’t no bugs on me?” Well, if you’re not protecting your cat from #fleas, then there very well could be bugs on your mug (err, cat). Even more urban environments like #Portland have thriving flea populations that would love nothing more than to make a new home on your pet. Believe it or not, we see #cats with fleas all the time here at the clinic, even lots of indoor cats!

When #cats reach the age of 7, they are considered to be mature adults. At the age of 11, they are considered to be seniors, and just like humans, they require a bit of extra care. As cats get older, they go through many changes that make them more at risk for certain conditions, but providing them with loving support at home and making sure that they receive regular veterinary care will help your cat live a long, healthy (and happy!) life.

Did you know the number of reported cases of #rabies is far higher in #cats than in dogs, #FeLV is a leading viral killer in cats, and 1 in 4 cats infected with #heartworms are indoor cats? While statistics like these can be scary, they don’t have to be! Fortunately, all of these diseases can easily be prevented at your cat’s routine check-ups using the following recommendations from our veterinarians. Is your cat up-to-date?
