I would add (although it's already implicit) that your interest in the community, and in others' games and experiences, must be genuine. Not only is this good for your "brand" or whatever, but it's good for you. You meet great people, and learn a lot more by observing and interacting with other designers and gamers.

Hey gang, feel like indulging in a 7-question feeling of omnipotence?  Take this silly quiz, and find out which Ancient you are in Omniurge!  The quiz is really just a cleverly hidden showcase for some of Omniurge's cards.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on them!

So, cute story time. Lumi has this Jesus action figure, it's pretty badass. And I had a buddy of mine over today for some gaming, he's got pretty long hair. Lumi points and exclaims "It's Jesus!" when he walks in the door, and immediately monopolizes him for TV time.

Because what's better than watching Dora with Jesus, right? So every time he tries to sneak off for his turn at the table, she pulls him back with a resigned shake of the head, saying "Silly Jesus, it's TV time now". Best game day ever.

For my boardgame peeps, there's a contest going on now for a 100 dollar gift card at coolstuffinc.  Who says you can't get something for nothing, eh?

What do you folks think of this? I backed, but I might back out if the rules don't come by the end of it, or if they aren't up to snuff. The language barrier is really my main concern. I spoke with the creator, and he said the cards and rules would be edited by a native speaker, so I have hope.

So this looks pretty sweet... But they're using Ship Naked for fulfilment, and Ship Naked is under the Game Salute umbrella. And Game Salute is, from what I can tell, a freaking disaster. I really, really want to back this, but only if it means I will actually see my game. So any experiences to share re: Ship Naked?

Thought I'd share some progress on my first DIY attempt. I'm building a prototype for my own game Omniurge.

Total cost, going by the big mac index since we're international here, is about 2 hours' pay on minimum wage. That's for a few games' worth of tokens, using cheap spray glue, copy paper, and a large sheet of picture board I picked up at a local frame and photo store. The most expensive part is going to be the matte sealer.
That's thousands of tokens right there, ready to be cut and laquered! Spray glue is the bee's knees.
