This is a very cool image.
Finally getting my feet back under me a bit. There is nothing better to me than spending time out in the world exploring and taking photographs, but I'm finding it takes me longer and longer to dig out from the desk work that backs up while I'm gone. Throw in a family holiday and trying to sell/buy a get the picture.

Valley of Fire in Nevada holds some amazing sandstone treasures. This is a small formation found in a wash while exploring with +Tony Kuyper last month. Tony is the master at these types of tight stone abstracts (thanks for the suggestions on this by the way Tony). I have a ways to go, but I certainly understand his fascination with the colors and shapes one can find in desert stone. This array of colors existed in the rock and the light, but I have done some fairly extensive developing to increase contrast and bring them out. Tony's luminosity masks and luminosity painting techniques were critical.

It's nice to be sharing new images again. Many more to come.
