Submitted a journal paper to Journal of Acoustical Society of America. Title is "Automotive wheel and tire design with suppression of acoustic cavity noise through the incorporation of passive resonators". With the move away from petrochemical engines to electric vehicles, traditional masking noises can't be relied on to distract from narrow band acoustic resonances like tyre cavity noise. Hence the use of passive resonators like Helmholtz resonators to stop the sound at source.
Hopefully the reviewers will find it interesting.

Congratulations to Amy Dowsett for her new publication " The prediction of measurement variability in an automotive application by the use of a coherence formulation." It is in the IMechE Journal of Automobile Engineering.

Our new publication with Ali Abolfathi showing how car noise, vibration and harshness measurements can change with a simple movement of a trim attachment clip. Shows how vehicle NVH is sensitive to small changes in the boundary conditions of small items and why the variability in NVH targets can be so high.

Open access and can be used to inform vehicle design decisions, as the variability in mechanical design is common across all manufacturers.

Congratulations to Ali Abolfathi getting the Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science article "The uncertainty in stiffness and damping of an automotive vehicle’s trim-structure mounts and its effect on the variability of the vibration transfer function" published in open access. Excellent news.

A really good economics blog which breaks out of the groupthink found in mainstream media. "Nobody saw it coming..."

Seen the vehicle simulation capability of Simpack today. I'm used to MSc Adams and am impressed with the solver and post processing options.
