With the winter solstice having taken place over the weekend, the days are gradually lengthening again. Although the vines at Creation Wines are still enjoying the seasonal rest of their dormancy, the vineyards are abuzz with activity as pruning commences according to the strict maintenance schedule.

".....We visited Creation Wines to taste the distinctively elegant wines that come from the terroir of heaven on earth....."

Creation Wines had the opportunity to exhibit their wines at the annual #WildsKOSfees this year. It was the 14th year that De Oudekraal hosted this very successful event 35km outside of Bloemfontein.
People came from far and wide to taste anything from Pofadder to Eland, Ystervark to Gemsbok on offer during the festival.
The festivities started at 10h00 the Saturday morning and did not seem to die down when the rugby broadcast started on the big screen late afternoon.
The live music and wonderful wines on show, kept the people warm -during the extremely cold temperatures that day.

Bloemfontein - thank you, it was great to have been a part of the warm Free State hospitality at this year's WildsKOSfees!

"Although Stellenbosch is seen as the wine capital of South Africa we do have many more areas where world class wines are produced."

While wines are generally labelled with their varietals they are often referred to in the media and in wine competitions by the names of their Old World counterparts, by way of shorthand and in order to categorise them. This is possible because many New World wines ‘emulate’ traditional Old World wines.

" “A great wine experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed
I went here with friends during a recent trip to the Cape Winelands and what a wonderful experience. From the warm, friendly welcome to the amazing seat by the window and then the food and the wine! We loved every moment here and can't wait to go back.

We had the full wine pairing and also enjoyed a wonderful lunch afterwards.

They also cater for kids with a special pairing the young ones would enjoy and also have a tea & chocolate pairing which I didn't try, but I like that they have this option for those non wine drinkers among us.

It was a cold, rainy day and the fireplace in the middle of the room made for a wonderful, warm atmosphere. The service was excellent and the staff are all very knowledgeable on the wines.
