Dear Community Members,

Our KCP Drama club is proud to share that our Fall play, Zora Neale Hurston One Acts, has been selected to perform at the state level as one of only 25 plays at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival.

King College Prep drama is making history with this honor, being only the second Chicago Public School to bring a show to state and the first historically Black high school performing important historical Black literature that highlights Black culture as portrayed by playwright and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston.

We need your support!

In order to help fund our students' travel and registration costs for state, we are hosting a VIP Performance of our Zora Neale Hurston One Acts on Wednesday, January 4th at the Little Theatre, King College Prep, 4445 S. Drexel, Chicago, IL 60653. We will host a reception at 5:30pm with the performance beginning at 6pm. The performance will be followed by a talk back with the cast and director.

Tickets are $50 per seat. Even if you are unable to attend, we suggest that our local businesses purchase blocks of seats that we can donate to other Chicago Public Schools drama students. Donations are also accepted at the event link.

Thank you for your consideration!
