It's not just a racial issue, there's also the issue of poverty. Martin Luther King knew this which led to the start of the Poor People's Campaign in 1968.

If we are only focusing on one issue without focusing on the other nothing really gets accomplished...the powers that be knows this...hence the current status quo.

Bernie Sanders fights for average citizens not for the wealthy elite. Many of our other members of congress sell their votes to the highest political donor. Bernie doesn't, if you look at his political donors you will see the Labor Unions and regular citizens support him. Bernie Sanders stands for the citizens of this nation not the corporations. He stands with you and me, not the wealthy 1 percent. Go Bernie!!!

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
Hard news is expensive. It costs money to establish and run news divisions around the world. The corporate media discovered that devoting airtime to the latest celebrity scandal was cheap and brought easy ratings. This same mentality has spilled into presidential campaign coverage. The media is more interested in the soap opera storylines of presidential campaigns than the issues.

The majority of American news consumers are either misinformed or underinformed. There is a lack of basic current events knowledge in our society. Most people get their news from television, and television has decided not to cover serious issues.

Media coverage is biased against facts and issues. The corporate press is biased against informing the public. Our electoral system is based on the assumption of an informed electorate, but networks like Fox News are undermining the system by intentionally misinforming.

Amen Bernie, Amen...Bernie for President

If there is anyone in America who disagrees that having a more educated workforce is beneficial, they either don't believe in a good future for our country, or they are so politically entrenched that they can no longer see clearly.

Senator Bernie Sanders:
"We live in a highly competitive global economy and, if our economy is to be strong, we need the best-educated workforce in the world. That will not happen if, every year, hundreds of thousands of bright young people cannot afford to go to college, and if millions more leave school deeply in debt.

Countries like Germany, Denmark, Sweden and many more are providing free or inexpensive higher education for their young people. They understand how important it is to be investing in their youth. We should be doing the same.

We used to lead the world in the percentage of our people who graduated college. Today we are in 12th place. We used to have great universities tuition free. Today they are unaffordable. I want a more educated workforce. I want everybody to be able to get a higher education regardless of their income."

In contrast to the Republican plan to cut financial aid and make college more expensive for students, Sen. Bernie Sanders is set to propose legislation that would give students free tuition at four-year public colleges and universities.
