Midea’s at the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) in Shanghai, which runs between March 9th-12th, where it’s showing off 22 different smart-home products, under its IOT-focused ‪#‎MSmart‬ name, and over 30 new tech features across its product offerings.

At Midea’s AWE booth, attendees can see a home of the future, and one of the new robots from ‪#‎Midea‬ and ‪#‎Yaskawa‬ showing off its dexterity by preparing ice cream cones for guests.

Speaking of guests, many Olympic athletes have been seen frequenting Midea’s booth, with the several members of China’s swimming, diving and fencing team seemingly fascinated by the friendly new advances shown by Midea in home appliances.

GOOOAL! Midea Carrier in Brazil just announced that it has won the tenders for the provision of climate control solutions to all 12 new sports arenas and auxiliary facilities in both Barra and Deodoro Olympic Parks

Winning the bids as the sole provider of HVAC solutions (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) for Brazil’s international sports stadium facilities not only marks a significant milestone in the joint venture’s operations in Brazil and LATAM markets, but also demonstrates Midea’s strengths and leadership in climate control solutions.

The Barra Olympic Park spreads across an area of 1,180 km2, hosting five stadiums, COT training centers, one hotel and news media offices. The Deodoro Olympic Park will be the second largest concentration of competition venues, hosting two stadiums and 11 Olympic sports.

The revolutionary V5X-series VRF units boast a high operational efficiency with low energy consumption, thanks to its advanced DC (direct current) inverter technology, precision refrigerant control, energy-saving heat transfer, and powerful low-temperature heating technologies. The VRF has a maximum parallel capacity of 88HP, the highest in the industry, as well as the leading integrated part load value (IPLV) of 8.3W/W.

Lunar New Year is celebrated on the first day of the year on a lunar calendar, rather than the popular Gregorian solar calendar which always places its New Year Day on January 1st. Because solar and lunar calendars don't match up perfectly, Lunar New Year lands on a different day each year - this Lunar New Year begins on February 8 th.

Although most of the world uses the Gregorian calendar now, many cultures in the world still observe traditional lunar calendar occasions such as Lunar New Year.

Cultures in Asia which observe Lunar New Year will also assign one of twelve different animals, and one of five elements, to each year. This is slightly similar to how western Zodiac animals, which are all distributed throughout the course of the year.

Last year's animal was the Wood Goat, and next year's animal will be the Fire Rooster, but this year belongs to the Fire Monkey.
