OK, so the Turing is morphing into something like chess, you could pass it even at 100% without deep insights but still it would be an iconic moment. Now, about Watson in the rain, sure, Watson neither has a water sensor nor program or actuators to protect itself. But humans largely also lack sensors and programs for all kinds of things like cancer and deadly radioactivity. I think we are in "Open Society" territory here, if we leave Watson 1 million years it will still lack water defenses, while if me and you can escape the likes of Abraham, Taliban and George W. Bush we might do better. So part of the problem is that Watson is in the hands of the blue Taliban! Or/and it is our social openness and even gullibility that powers our coevolution.
