Many moons ago, +Martin Bailey ran a photo contest for the MBP community entitled "Forced Perspective".  Here's is a pretty cool example of someone doing a project on this with model cars.

Spectacular northern lights time lapse by an former MBP community member.
I shot a bunch of time lapse scenes of the northern lights a few months ago around Yellowknife and Hay River. My brother just finished editing them and uploaded it to Youtube. Enjoy!

An interesting glimpse into photography of yesteryear.  And if you think you have a lot of gear, check out the beginning of this video which lists what was in Ansel's bag (more like his trunk).

I'm not much of a bird photographer, but a recent trip to Assateague Island, Virginia afforded me an opportunity to shoot egrets at a national wildlife refuge.  I quickly discovered that I have a lot to learn about this genre of photography and have really come to appreciate the dedication of wildlife photographers like +Martin Bailey

If you like Apple products then here's an interesting article on Apple product photography.  Despite the simplicity of Apple product promo images, the setup is more complex than I imagined.

As The World Wide Web Turns 20, Take A Look At The World's First Website

I'm forever on the hunt for a great iPhone weather app, and for quite a while I've been using Weatherbug.  But, today I think I've found a replacement with the Yahoo! Weather app (free).  Really slick interface.  The only reason I mention it here is that it uses a background image from Flickr (no big surprise here) that appears to be taken local to the weather location.  It is not the same image all the time, and so far they have been quite impressive.  One can even click on the copyright notice in the lower right corner to bring up Flickr for the photographer/flickr stream.  And, the phone can be rotated to landscape to better fit the image.  Pretty neat way to discover shoot locations in your area too.

Hello all!  I'm a transplant from the +Martin Bailey forums.  I am an amateur and photography is my passion (outside of my full time day job).  Nice to see some familiar faces here and I look forward to good discussions and images!
Cheers,
Steve
