My wife and I (both of us vegetarian) had the incredible pleasure of visiting Green three times during a brief stay in San Antonio in February 2012. Green has a down-to-earth, casual atmosphere and helpful, friendly service. The menu is vast, and 100% vegetarian (and largely vegan as well). It was actually difficult to choose what to eat--we are not used to having so many options. It is a rare treat to have a menu from which one could literally pick something randomly and know the selection would be at once veggie-friendly and scrumptious. We enjoyed six different meals between us, and I wish I had written them down, but they were all excellent.

One of the few vegetarian and gluten-free friendly places in San Antonio. The food is fantastic, but then again, I like vegetarian food. The space is great, with a small garden and outdoor patio. The staff is cool, attentive and knowledgeable. While I wouldn't take my grandmother here (she would think the food is "weird"), I love going back for their tofu stir fry and sweet potato fries! Wish there were more places like this in San Antonio. It seems very Austin bohemian.

Best. Restaurant. Around. We had lunch at green and while perusing the menu, completely overwhelmed by the delicious-sounding options, we ordered sweet potato fries. The fries' seasoning and accompanying vegan chipotle mayo set the bar high. The food was all fantastic, and I would eat here again every time I'm in the area. The staff was very pleasant and helpful as well. Amazing place to eat.

My family and I had phenomenal food at Green Vegetarian Cuisine today. The Pecan Hummus was absolutely delicious. We also ordered Tofu Fajitas and Falafel Burritos. Both were fantastic! We ended the meal with a pumpkin cupcake and a gigantic chocolate chip cookie. The service was very friendly and efficient and we even bought their cooking book! Everything was reasonably priced. Great place to visit! Anita

So I reviewed the original restaurant a while back, and the number one complaint was the inconstancy of the food. The new location seems to be better at it, but still could use some work. My wife had the Grilled cheese with Tomato basil soup special on our first visit. And she decided it was the best version of the soup she has ever tried, it was hearty and flavorful with out the need to add heavy cream. Sadly on the second visit it was watery and had what seemed to be to much parsley and little or no basil. On my first visit I thoroughly enjoyed the Quinoa burrito. Especially if you need to get the body moving.....if you know what I mean,,,,,, sooo much fiber! Second trip was the coconut tofu bowl. It was well thought out and overall had a great taste. i would just suggest asking for less sauce. It was pretty salty as well, which could have resulted from the excess sauce. So why 2 stars? Well they have an open kitchen, and that means we can see what is going on. So a message to the owners. Your cooking staff should not be eating while working. Nor should there personal drinking cups be kept with the customers serving plates and bowls. It would take one good bout of sickness or a failing grade from Metro health to ruin your business. Keep it relaxed but keep it professional,

Well first of all the new location fabulous. The food was great but the service was a little off. This is the second time I go to Green at night time and the staff is always sitting down. The other night the manager was picking food from the plates and makes me wonder if he does that all the time. I would like for you to do something about this person. I am very satisfied with the morning crew but the night crew needs a new manager. Poor Poor
