Yesterday we commissioned another 100 kW plant for a pumping station at Himachal Pradesh, India. This is used for Lift Irrigation.
The Solar Powered system has a two hour battery back-up.

Press Release: Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. Awarded Rs 220 Cr. Water Project in Africa.

Jain Irrigation today announced award of $32.98 Million contract by Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA), Tanzania for the Supply and Installation of Water Distribution Network. The project is financed by EXIM Bank of India under Gov. of India Line Of Credit (LOC) program.

The project is an integrated water supply project with unique design to ensure reduced water supply losses across entire network.

This project is another milestone in company’s strategy of participating in a meaningful way in Irrigation/water/agriculture sector growth across the large continent of Africa.

Nikkei Asian Review writes about Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. and the outlook for it's food processing business.

"Food processing is one of the most important growth avenues for the company. India's processed-food market is expected to expand to $75 billion by 2018."

Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. has bagged Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company's (MSEDCL) most awaited tender worth Rs 473 crore for supply and installation of 8959 Solar Agri-pumps. Pumps are to be installed in 20 districts of Maharashtra.
This is a big WIN for the farmers who will now get consistent and sustainable access to solar power, the State of Maharashtra for having the vision for this project and for the Company to continue serving the small and marginal farmers and help improve their productivity!
