I've got slots open for Wield on Tuesday 7pm (CDT). Wonder what it's like to play The One Ring or Stormbringer? Wield lets you. And you play the wielder of a another player's item, given world changing power but at the price of their destiny.

I have two openings for Wield tomorrow night:

https://gauntlet-hangouts.firebaseapp.com/event-detail/-L8nXKIeeoK0zhNXlvVR.

If you’ve ever wanted to play an item of great, magical power, like the One Ring or Stormbringer, this is your chance to wreck destiny.

You play two characters in the game. Your Vatcha, a magical item of great power, is wielded by another player’s Wielder. You also play the Wielder of someone else’s Vatcha.

Who knows? You may end up destroy a city, taking over a kingdom, fighting your Vatcha’s control to save your village or try to keep your family from fragmenting under great outside pressures. The world is yours.

On Tuesdays in May, I'll be running an ongoing, drop in friendly campaign of Wield, where you play an item of ancient power and the wielder of someone else's item. It's like creating the Silmarillion with a lot more humanity and a lot less dreary.

This is for the on-going, drop-in friendly, Age of the World spanning game of Wield by John Wick You’re not required to make every session. You must RSVP to each session you wish to attend.

Previously on Wield WOrld:
A nomadic soceity was brought together and a mighty nation formed. The wielder of the Vatcha tattoo Scirocco angered one of the Gods in her own temple and found themselves drowned alongside the entire country, which many have now forgotten. Scirocco hasn't claimed a new wielder that anyone is aware of yet.

A boy who was fated to be sacrificed was rescued and given power by the staff Aridu and defeated the assassins sent after him. Creating Arborea, the Monkey Kingdom, the young man, who has now lived for over 100 years, keeps all his borders secure from the outside world.

In Wield, you play Vatcha, magical Items like Stormbringer or The One Ring as well as the (disposable) wielder of another player’s Vatcha. The presence of the Vatcha distorts Destiny and every time a Wielder dies, we’ll be fast forwarding 50-100 years to get that Age-spanning feel of something like the Simarillion.

The super simple rules will be taught and we’ll be using roll20 to keep character and world information.

The session is scheduled for 3 hours. The sessions will be recorded. The game will be an ongoing campaign that is very friendly to drop-in players. Please Note: Contacting me (at mikelmatthewsjr at gmail) to create your magical item before the game will help it run faster. They’re not particularly difficult to make.

I've got 2 spot open for next Tuesday and 1 for the final Tuesday. (1 player had an appointment and the other had technical problems.)

I've started a drop-in campaign of Wield on Tuesdays at 7pm CST.

In the 1st session, we created the Timeline for what's supposed to happen during this Age.

And now, the players are going to WRECK it.

I'm Mikel and I've been both GMing and doing Improv for a long time. Those two things have fed into each other and, since I get antsy without a project, I've started putting together a youtube channel with videos about how to incorporate improv and theatre techniques into your gaming as well as some reviews and aspects of RPGs you may want to steal and put in your game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTDmder5clo

This is about how to incorporate Loresheets from Legends of the Wulin into your game so that your players are able to buy in to the game world and show you exactly what interests them most.

I've also got a review of Phoenix: Dawn Command as well as the 8 Minute Story Challenge: Give me a song and a genre of RPG and I'll listen to it twice and put together a video about what an inciting incident and adventure coming off of that song. I've done it, on and off, for years on the Fear the Boot Forums.
