Not in the least impressive: the 'mix' is boomy, unfocussed, way too fussy and the levels are all over the place. Vocals seem to be pulled back to about 4 and strings/rhythm guitars pushed up to 9 or so. Amateurish in the extreme. Just because you can remix something doesn't mean you should.
Nik Venet had nothing to do with this. It was all Brian. This was the period when a lot people 'cheated' and tried to take credit for what others did. Don't be one of them Andrew. Behave yourself! Did you 'get clean' for Gene. Or did you take part in the Woody Allen movie, "Lets Get Ourselves Some Teeny Boppers"? I think Nik Venet was involved in the soundtrack. Connie Stevens was going to sing the title song, but was replaced by Lucy Arnez. She did a good job!
