So apparently this pen and ink thing is time consuming and requires a ton of patience, but it’s also a lot of fun. This piece took 3-4 days, and is 12 X 24.

I realize for a while now I have been enthralling you with all my displays of works with watercolor, but I recently stumbled across the works of 19th century pen and ink master Franklyn Booth, whose work so blew me away that I wondered how good my hand would be at that medium. I’ll let you decide. May I present “Waterfall in town” 18 X 24 pen and ink.

Decided to try painting a watercolor of a bird. Watercolor on canvas is still the best way to go.

So here’s the deal, the tree’s are bare, the sky is grey, and nothing local is really catching my eye, so I did a little research to see what might be “out there” that would interesting to paint, and lo and behold, I had to go pretty far; imagine going on a long journey to a very distant part of space, and on route, some repairs had to be made to the ship, so the ships’s best engineer goes out to do some repairs, and she’s greeted by quite a sight, a nebula...

Okay, okay, this is what's happening, we're going for a long walk in the woods, and we come across this opening which turns out to be a series of stone steps, or layers, they're almost like steps, and there is a trickle of water coming through, at one point this must have been an active creek, so if you're wearing the right footwear, you can actually walk across a small waterfall, so how cool is that! And there seems to be some sunlight in the distance, wonder where that leads to, a day of discovery.

So you're in the mood for a stroll through the woods, and it's quite peaceful and quiet, and your hear water trickling in a stream, and you come upon a very old foot bridge, but you're not sure where it goes in these unknown woods, what to do...
