My Last Post regarding our final project with +Genna Rodriguez is one that we co-wrote for the most part. It's been a crazy journey. After looking back at my initial post for the project proposal, I honestly can't believe we are finished.

On the post you will be able to see our Definitions and Scope and Sequences for the "7C's" as well as the video. Keep in mind that for our project, we had to house on the Educational Technology site for our division. Our project is under the 21st Century Learning Dropdown menu. Directions are in both of our blog posts.

Teacher Librarians... +Kristina Boutilier +Amy Singh +Rochelle Rugg     and of course everyone else... Here's a great resource for using different software/apps in learning and how they connect to the Essential Skills of 21st Century Learning. The American Association of Teacher Librarians have their framework for 21st Century Skills set up a little different than the project created by +Genna Rodriguez and myself, but there are some definite Gems. Just thought fellow TL's might be interested in the site, if they haven't already found it for themselves!

Hello all, now I know that no one has time to peruse more stuff with projects etc. but I thought I would share lessons and videos for Social Justice. Human Rights day is December 10th. - so if it fits into exploring thinking of others during Advent, then these might work for you. There are tons of resources curated on one area. These lessons were from Chalk.com who makes Planboard, the teacher planning tool. I think it's the one that +Branelle Zenuk  and +Jillian Laursen rave about.

As we come to the last couple weeks of class, I feel almost giddy posting a link to my blog. My final musings on what it means to teach digital citizenship and digital fluency...

Another post on my reflections on Parenting a Digital Generation. What it means to be a community to raise a child in the 21st Century. The ostrich approach is not enough... nor are statements, "I'm just not tech-savvy".

Update on our major project (with +Genna Rodriguez  ...Just shared reflections on our presentation to High School Teachers. The focus on the presentation was on Digital Citizenship and the Balanced Approach to Integrating Technology at the high school level. In this session we looked at how to integrate digital citizenship in authentic ways into curriculum, reasons to do it, and how to build lessons using our Lesson Planning Framework. We also have included a copy of our presentation.

If you have spare time ;-)  be sure to check out the documentary, "Terms and Conditions May Apply". it's on Netflix. Definitely worth a watch regarding how we divulge our personal information to companies like Google and FB. Has many interviews with people like Sherry Turkle, Eli Pariser... Lots of food for thought on how companies are becoming "Big Brother" and we are willing giving up our privacy to these corporations.

Ghost apps?!? Check out this article, " What parents need to know about ‘ghost apps’ used to hide sexts". It's hard enough to protect teens from themselves without apps which are designed to look as benign as a calculator but are actually "digital vaults" for hiding nude images. Why is there even a market for this kind of thing??

Just as report cards were ending, I found this article and great visual from Sylvia Tolisano on Documenting FOR and AS learning. She explores within the post the many ways educators can approach communication. Without re-explaining what is on the site, be sure to see her fantastic infographs as they powerfully capture the difference between the "FOR" and 'AS" learning. Many of the strategies shown can be further leveraged with digital tools.
