Running a spring marathon in potentially hot conditions? Don't let the fear of dehydration put you at risk for a more serious (and common) problem of overhydration. http://runnersconnect.net/running-nutrition-articles/overhydration-dangers-drinking-too-much-water-while-running/

The subtle difference between training for a specific goal and training to improve while still having goals can often be a difficult concept for runners to comprehend. In this article, I am going to explain the idea in more depth and help you shift your goal setting and training mindset to stay injury-free and improve consistently.

I have a question related to goal-specific training. I am currently enrolled in the sub-2:00 Half Marathon training plan that +Jeff Gaudette  developed for +RunKeeper . I've also been trying to focus more on increasing my stride rate. I'm wondering if it is important to have the same stride rate for every run, or if it should naturally decrease on days where a "Slow" run is prescribed. My guess would be the latter, since a stride rate of 180 could result in too choppy of a stride while trying to keep the pace down, but I was curious what you and others think.

The RunnersConnect team and I work extremely hard to deliver awesome, free content to you as much as we can. So, it really ticks me off when someone steals our content, plagiarizes it, and calls it their own. Let me show you exactly what Matt from Runner Academy stole so you can see it’s not just sour grapes, Matt’s response showing that he thinks it’s ok, and why this hurts you just as much as it does me. http://runnersconnect.net/running-tips/runner-academy-theft/

We couldn't be more proud of team RunnersConnect. Here's Bill Rotella's story about how he lost 143 pounds (not a typo) and is climbing his way towards a 3:38 at the MCM marathon: http://runnersconnect.net/member-profiles/runnersconnect-team-spotlight-bill-rotella/

Stress fractures are among the worst running injuries thanks to their almost guaranteed 6-8 week layoff. What if you could somehow find a way to identify the most common areas stress fractures occur so you could catch them early and potentially save yourself weeks of time off? Lucky for you, we took a look at the research and did just that: http://runnersconnect.net/running-injury-prevention/stress-fractures-runners/

We’ve covered the topic of injury prevention in many of our previous podcasts and articles. But, what happens when you are injured? What's the biggest mistake runners make? Who should you go see, what are the best types of treatments, and how do you know when you’re working with a provider you can trust and won’t just tell you to “stop running”? Our interview with Dr. Ryan Shum, one of the best sports-injury practitioners in Boston, helps answer those questions: http://runnersconnect.net/running-interviews/running-injury-recovery/
