Let's talk cross-subsidisation.  Are Woolworths cross-subsidising competitive grocery prices with their income from grog and pokies? About time they came clean and told us about their pricing and their linkages to addictions.

Story
Introduction
I'm a Has Been - or to be grammatically correct a Have Been. I have been - Nurse, Librarian, Station Cook, Union Organiser, Political Staffer, Corporate PA, Business Woman. I receive that well-known arts/blogging subsidy known as the Old Aged Pension and keep myself occupied out-of-doors with gardening, community activism & doing coffee.
Education
  • University of Queensland
    Bachelor of Arts
Economics - macro and micro economic Government - public and social policy Sociology - the main emphasis of this was on community studies. I am a community person and the subjects coming under this heading gave me the theory to go with the practice. Studies in Religion - an excellent way to get an overview of religion in general while looking at a few in particular. These days I am involved in a number of interfaith groups and I feel that this major has well equipped for me this. My university education came about thanks to being part of a disadvantaged group (women) and courtesy of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam who gave Australia free tertiary education which, regretfully, is no longer available.
  • Stella Maris College, Bowen
This is where I went to High School - Sub-Junior and Junior or what would, these days, be called Grades 9 and 10. I did Maths 1; dropped Maths 2 - couldn't get a handle on geometry; English; Latin; History; Shorthand; Typing. I left school equipped to earn a living in an office.
