Silex can add Wi-Fi to your product with the SX-PCEAC2 radio module. Using a PCI-Express interface, the SX-PCEAC2 can achieve links rates of 867 Mbps.

The Silex SX-PCEAC2 brings with it three distinct advantages over the on-board Wi-Fi on the NXP EVK.
Performance: SX-PCEAC2 is a 802.11ac WLAN plus Bluetooth combo solution that supports 2x2 MU-MIMO with two spatial streams for designed to deliver superior WLAN and BT performance.
Size: The SX-PCEAC2 is the smallest, most integrated, cost effective QCA6174 radio module available. This includes all the RF circuitry out to the antenna connectors. Because of his high level of integration, the SX-PCEAC2 occupies about 1/3 of the real estate of the on-board radio module.

Modular Certification: The PCEAC2 comes pre-certified for North America, Europe and Japan. This significantly reduces deployment cost, risk and time to market. Silex offers certification services for other countries as well.

The SX-PCEAC2 is powered by Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174-5 radio chip, which features 2x2 wave 2 MU-MIMO technology. It is a dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac module with Bluetooth support which is designed for devices that require wireless connectivity in a small form factor combined with high performance. The SX-PCEAC2 comes in a half mini-card form-factor that allows customers to easily evaluate the radio with the i.MX 8 with either the NXP provided BSP or the Silex evaluation image.
