Restricted free agents Roman Josi and Patric Hornqvist are locks to be re-signed by the Nashville Predators. Five other players are also pending RFAs, each with varying likelihoods of earning a new contract with the Preds.

Colin Wilson had 19 points in 25 games this season before missing the other 23 due to injury. The team was far better with him than without him, which is why he's our pick for the team's 2013 MVP.

Columbus needs to finish one point ahead of Minnesota to make the playoffs. That means they need at least one point tonight against the ailing Preds, who have lost nine of their last 10 games overall and 15 of their last 16 on the road. As for Nashville, tonight is the end of what has been easily their worst season since the expansion era.

Refusing to give substantive answers to even basic questions isn’t the sign of a strong leader. It’s what a petulant child would do. It’s what a man who thinks he’s above his current situation would do. And at least a few people in Nashville would say that it’s also what an overpaid defenseman who doesn’t belong in his position does. If you’re not going to lead the team to wins, you could at least lead them to looking like they have some sort of grace in defeat.

If the Preds win tonight, they hurt Detroit's playoff chances. If they lose, they can move up in the Draft Lottery. That's a win-win, right?

Nine other players chosen in the 1998 NHL Draft have scored more goals than David Legwand, who finally reached 200 last night. And he's not even the top-scoring Preds draft pick of all time; that honor belongs to Scott Hartnell with 230.

Nashville takes on Chicago for the fifth and final time tonight. As if that weren't bad enough, the only place to watch is on the NBC Sports Network. At least the season will end soon, right?
