In a move that may surprise many of the people who know me, tomorrow I'm test driving a BMW i3 and a Nissan Leaf (both electric vehicles). I think EVs are now a realistic option to replace my long train commute to/from work and many of the short car journeys I take during the week. Hopefully this will also help me keep the Alfa Romeo cost-effectively on the road longer by cutting down both the mileage I'm doing in that car and the servicing costs.

If I've done my sums right, the money I save not buying a monthly train ticket and cutting my petrol costs by 50% exceeds the cost of a personal lease for either of these vehicles (although the Nissan saves me more).

We moved into shiny new offices in June. After reading this I wonder if we're really just being experimented on? It would explain a lot.

Lights Out. In memory of all those who died in WW1 including my Gran's brother, Herbert Owen Upton (he's the one sitting down) of the 12th Battalion (The Rangers), London Regiment who died on the first day of the Battle of Arras, 9th April 1917 having celebrated his 19th birthday only a few days before. Like many young men of his generation, he'd lied about his age in order to join the army early

If you're in the UK, please don't forget the Royal British Legion's "Lights out" campaign, today, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Britain's entry into WW1.

I'm not sure why I'd want a drone of my very own, I just know that I want one!

Only a few days after it was announced that the next Falcon launch on March 16 would sport the 'grasshopper' landing legs on the first stage and attempt a soft splashdown, Elon Musk tweeted this picture of the mounted landing legs. They don't hang around do they?

Wow
NASA recently released an astounding, high-def video featuring remastered space-and-shuttle noises by Skywalker Sound. Even for veteran booster-cam watchers, this is a whole new experience.
