I've been wanting to try Pushkin for a while. My heart fluttered when I read their posted menu outside. Sometimes it's nice treating yourself when you're dining alone. The posted menu noted a pre-fixe theatre offering. I readied my palate for a grand experience. I was given a table in back at 5:15PM. I sat on a comfortable bench cushioned with plush pillows. All tables but the one I was seated was lined with a white table cloth. The server arrived and asked for my beverage choice. I excused myself to the bathroom. The bathroom is very nice, but the door is equally as heavy. I took my time, because they need to add a tablecloth to my table. However, I returned to an unadorned table. This was the first disappointment. The next disappointment left my mouth dry. Where is my drink? I waited while the server made eye contact and passed by the table at least 3 times until he returned with a drink I ordered at least 10 minutes ago. When the water finally arrived, I ordered vanilla tea. It was presented beautifully. For dinner, I had the Original "Pojarsky", which consisted of veal & chicken cutlets, housemade crouton crust. This was delicious. It's normally served with mushroom sauce, but I requested it on the side. A side of crisp potatoes come with the piece of mashed up meat. The Pojarsky is delicious and beautifully presented. Along with the entree, I ordered Asparagus with hollandaise sauce on the side. The green and white Asparagus stalks were cooked perfectly. It's safe to say the food is delicious and presented in a fine dining manner. And lots of Yelpers are excited to try Brasserie Pushkin. Yet, there is no excuse for poor service. I was SO DISAPPOINTED about the service and overall experience. I was looking for a joyful and memorable experience and was let down time and again. Why was my table the only table without a table cloth after 5:00PM? Why did it take at 10 minutes for water to arrive? Why did the server not offer a stool for my purse (this is only the plight of the 1%), but everyone else was offered a stool? After dinner, I just wanted to leave. I wanted to try the desserts, but the service my dinner with a sour taste in my mouth. I've worked in the service industry for many years. I understand how it feels to work all day on one's feet and for that reason, I think 20% tip is the minimum. I've been sticking to this ratio for years. However, with the disgusting service, I left only 15%. My hope is that management really strives to fulfill the hype and expectation for many years by improving their service and diners' experiences. However, they did not live up to mine.

mediocre veal chops. my medium rare chop arrived medium, my wife's medium rare plus chop arrived rare and was twice the size of mine. service is a mess, busboys standing around with trays of foods getting cold. very limited vegetable choices. slightly claustrophobic in the back. expensive. we will not be back.

Amazing fine dining experience! Service was truly outstanding. It was truly lovely in every way and I didn't want my evening to end. The service and attentiveness of the staff was impeccable. The food was out of this world and could not be faulted in any way. When you leave this great restaurant you're in heaven!!

Very impressive place. The food is excellent. Well worth the prices. The soup was excellent and beefstroganoff was really delicious. Desserts were good but not Russians. Very interesting presentation of desserts though. Nice crowd as well and nice interiors. Highly recommend and will visit again.

Oustanding restaurant, amazing staff, great atmosphere and fantastic food! My wife and I went here for dinner on my birthday. The restaurant was full. The food was delight and service was brilliant, the experience was everything we expected. From start to finish, a delightful experience not to be missed. The service was excellent - you never feel put off, and nobody puts on a snooty attitude. It's come to be the standard by which my wife and I measure high-end dining.

A beautiful restaurant with nothing to offer. The food was far below average. The tartar looked and smelled bad.The lamb undercooked and fat.The salads tasteless. The pirogy and bread stale. The sidedishes come together with the dessert. The infused vodka tastes like sirup. The service ends at many people asking if all is good and nobody making sure it is.A total tourist trap.
