Looking for a good picture viewer for Ubuntu 14.10, I'm switching from Windows so I'm looking for something like Windows media player where you can just drag a folder of pictures into it and view it as a slideshow so i can have that playing on one monitor while i'm working on the other..

please note: Linux noobie, please speak slowly and assume i don't know what you're talking about... :D

I've just sat my 70-410 exam, and my god is powershell important to know, to the point where adding users to groups you're only given powershell commands as options!! who uses powershell to add users to groups when you've got access to a nice clean useful GUI to use?!?!

Hi everyone,

I'm just trying to get my head around Server 2012 r2 backup, no matter what i try I can only ever see the last backup taken, if i want to get back a file deleted a week ago i'd need to restore from previous versions but that's far from a good solution, am i doing something wrong or do i need a third party solution like backup exec??

BTW this is just a test\demo domain not live in any way...

i've set up a .vhdx file and attached it and set it as the backup location, lets see if that works where a usb pen drive didn't...

Hi Everyone,

should i watch Bleach? I watched the first three seasons a few years ago but not sure why i lost interest, i remember Ichigo stopping the ultimate killing\execution machine with ease and thinking I would have liked that to have been a bigger fight... What do you think? yes or no?

Hi all,

I'm looking to beef up my test network at home which is just running on an old PC, i was looking at a refurb Dell 2950 which i can get quite cheap (though it needs a 2nd CPU and more RAM) but i'm looking for a tower chassis as i don't really have room (or permission) for any kind of rack...

the Spec i'm looking for is
Dual quad core CPU's
16GB RAM (will update to 32GB later)
SATA drives are fine (i'd just stripe them and backup the VHDX files to a separate box)
Single gigabit NIC is fine

any recommendations that anyone can make on that hardware spec?

Something you'll want to consider too then, since this is for VM's, is that the PE2950 has limited support for VM's compared to modern hardware. A newer motherboard and cpu will have far greater support and give you a serious boost to how many you can run at once. A desktop m/b and a single Intel i5 will give you much better performance than a PE2950. If you pick up a 4-port SATA controller that supports raid you can have pretty decent disk performance in a regular desktop too. Go with an 8-port and get a case with 8 drive bays for even better performance.

Just walk away, I bought a 206 from there, engine didn't start when I collected the car as the battery had failed, took a week to get a new one (they fitted a second hand one to get me mobile), within the first week the EGR valve on the engine failed then a few days later the anti-roll bar broke and jammed the front nearside wheel... And I'm still waiting for the fuel cap cover that's been on order for three weeks...
