Tune into a live broadcast of Steve Reich at the RCM on Wednesday 8 October at 7.30pm.

www.rcm.ac.uk/live

To start proceedings, Steve Reich will be awarded the rare and prestigious accolade of an honorary doctorate from the RCM, recognising his outstanding contribution to international musical life. He will then join forces with RCM Head of Percussion David Hockings – who as principal percussionist with the London Sinfonietta has worked with Reich many times – for a performance of the iconic Clapping Music.

The concert also features Grammy Award-winning Different Trains – Reich’s ground-breaking and often haunting combination of recorded voices, sound effects and live music – and his exuberant 2007 work Double Sextet, winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Music.

Don’t miss this chance to see one of the great composers of our time.
