Google aspires to be an organization that reflects the globally diverse audience that our products serve. In support of those groups traditionally underrepresented in the software industry, including but not limited to female students, students with disabilities, students from an ethnic minority, or from the LGBT community, we remind eligible students to apply for the Google Sydney BOLD Engineering Internship for Summer 2012.

BOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership & Development) is a summer internship program designed to encourage diversity within computer science for 1st or 2nd year undergraduate students (commencing 2nd or 3rd year of university in 2013). The 10-12 week internship provides skills-based training, mentoring and professional development.

Students who are a member of a group that is historically underrepresented in the technology industry are encouraged to apply.

For more info and to apply, check out the student jobs site here.  Get your applications in today to start this summer (December) in Sydney.

Spread the word!

It's that exciting time of the year when I get to officially announce that the Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship is open once again for Australia and New Zealand for 2012!

The Google Anita Borg Scholarship was established in 2004 to honor the legacy of Dr. Anita Borg and her efforts to encourage women to pursue careers in computer science and technology.

Through this scholarship, we aim to encourage the next generation of women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders. The deadline for submitting an application will be 1 July 2012.
