Reason #4 we are thankful this year: The Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) is the greatest advancement for women's health care in a generation. The law covers preventive care like cancer screenings, mammograms, and birth control at no cost to women. However, some parts of the law are still under attack. Here is what you need to know about recent challenges to the birth Control Benefit. #HandsOffmyBC

Today, we will be sharing our top 5 reasons for being thankful this year. First up, we are thankful for our passionate, committed volunteers and activists. We are so proud that Illinois Representatives Luis Gutierrez, Danny Davis, and Jan Schakowsky are co-sponsoring the Women's Health Protection Act. Like this post to thank them for standing up for women all across the country! #ActForWomen

Affordable Care Cat's back with some awesome news: The ACA is going strong, and now more Americans are getting covered than ever. In only two days this week, 29,000 Americans signed up for better, more affordable health care coverage.
Here's to more healthy Americans, and let's keep spreading the word: Obamacare works! http://politi.co/1jmpscH

Reasons #2 and #3 for being thankful this year: Comprehensive Sex Education and Marriage Equality in Illinois! We worked hard to pass two pieces of legislation this year and both have been signed into law. Starting in 2014, Illinois public schools will teach comprehensive, medically accurate, and age appropriate sex education in grades 6-12 if they choose to offer such education. In June of 2014, same sex couples will have equal access to marriage. We are proud of this work and again thankful that our amazing activists propelled these victories!

This holiday season, we’re thankful for the fact that Americans across the country are protecting their health by signing up to get covered. If you’re still figuring out what the law means for you — our site has a ton of resources to help guide you. In order for coverage to kick in on January 1, 2014, you’ll need to enroll in a new health insurance plan by December 23.  (But don’t worry, you can enroll through March 31, 2014.)

There's been a lot of talk about the health care law, sometimes called “Obamacare,” and many people are wondering what it's all about. The law makes health insurance more affordable for millions of people who are uninsured and provides new benefits for all Americans. The law also requires most ...

Senator Lindsey Graham introduced a bill that would ban abortion at 20 weeks nationwide. Bills like this one are not only dangerous, without medical basis, and unconstitutional—they're deeply unpopular. Polling shows that when voters... understand the real-world circumstances surrounding abortion at 20 weeks, they overwhelmingly oppose bills that take safe and legal abortion completely off the table for women and families like Evelyn's. http://bit.ly/18b0WTQ
The reality is that abortion later in pregnancy is very rare, and often happens under heartbreaking and tragic circumstances. Politicians have no place in that conversation. Tell your senators to stop this ban now: http://bit.ly/17Q1aTZ
