Worst experience in Mexican cuisine! The service lack attention and motivation. It's like they get upset if you ask for something. Don't waste you time Taco Bell is better and I hate Taco Bell the food is terrible and it's not Mexican.

Taqueria El Chilaquil surprised by the level of food they offer here. While I've had a number of things from here that are better elsewhere, they really make exceptional meat dishes as well as corn tortillas. The chips were fine, and the salsa has a smooth, sweet taste to it without being very spicy. The chicken fajita torta was pretty good, but left something to be desired from both a texture and flavor perspective (as I’ve had tortas that are significantly better from Taqueria Datapoint). The white corn tortillas were magnificent, fresh, and homemade. The al pastor meat was quite incredible and definitely among some of the best pastor I’ve ever had. The pork was delicious, seared, and the marinade was perfect. Delicious! Finally, the carnitas were the star of the show. The huge plate of pork was sizzling hot, most of the pieces were crispy (as it should be!), and cooked in the traditional way it seems. The flavor of the pork was brought out very well, and I enjoyed this dish thoroughly as it might be the best carnitas I’ve ever eaten. In short, Taqueria El Chilaquil is a great place for authentic Mexican cuisine that both locals and immigrants from Mexico frequent in large numbers. You're going to get good food here, but if you don't speak Spanish, it's wise to bring a friend who can or else you might not be able to order. Yes, it's that authentic! My top five Mexican restaurants in San Antonio are now: 1) Taqueria Datapoint, 2) Ajuua, 3) Guallijo's, 4) Cascabel Mexican Patio, and 5) Taqueria El Chilaquil

I lived in San Antonio for 4 years, working in several restaurants and tasting various Tortas but nothing like those of El Chilaquil, and they are delicious. There are no words to describe its unique savor. Probe Tortas al pastor, Milaneza, Pierna, and finally the queen of all cakes La Espesial Chilaquil, wow, I never imagined the size and savor, they recommend a lot. And finally The Carnitas, when traveling to Mexico City, I never thought Carnitas find Savor the same in the United States are simply great, you can not stop eating them again and again, my wife shares the same taste for Mexican food and she was fascinated, especially because they have a very spicy red sauce and flavor. I give him 10 points. Congratulations guys, they do their job very well. And when they chance to eat at home is the right place because the atmosphere is familiar and there is good service, I took my friends and visitors when they want to try good Mexican food.
