Pretty good food if you're in the area looking to grab a quick bite. Its not the best I've had but it is decent. It is a small restaurant with parking on the streets so no need to worry about meters. The Horchata and the shrimp taco was the highlight for me and the salsa bar is pretty cool. Not a must have to drive for but great for a grabbing quick meal.

Went today for lunch. It was my first time. Got the 7 something combo that has 3 tacos and a drink, they told me that if I paid 2 more dollars I could get refill which i thought was cool. Got my refill and I wanted more to drink I was thirsty and the stupid employee said no that she couldn't give me anymore and she was only offering ice! I mean it's just dumb that I payed 2 more dollars it should be unlimited refill!! Not going back, stingy place and very pricey!!

5 stars for - great balance of modern and authentic tacos - quick serve place that is clean, small and cheery - huge focus on bold flavors making each bite count embodies what you'd expect from a taco place amongst a rising food scene in LA

This place is good, authentic taste with a modern feel. Tortillas are good, salsa bar is great and I recommend the chicken tacos, asada, and chorizo. The alpastor I will pass on next time. Also stay away from the cevada water...worst ive had. Other than that. Good place to grub on some tacos. 2.50 p/ taco. Bit pricey, but full of flavor. I ordered 3 tacos one tostada and water and total rang to $15.04 kinda pricey. But at least here I know im eating real chicken and not fickin. Lol. Try it.

Cash only. Order at the counter, they will give you a number, & your food will be dropped off at your table. Ordered: -carne asada vampiro: meat was juicy not dry, but not much flavor.. Just tasted like a quesadilla with meat. -cachetada w/chicken: this had ALOT of flavor. Would get this again. -full service salsa bar with lots of good options without it being TMI.. Had a very upset stomach later that night & so did my gf (we ate nothing else). Was is that salsa that had been sitting out for who knows how long??

One of the best taco spots in the downtown LA area. Vampiro al pastor is worth its weight in gold.

Mexicali Taco & Co joins the ranks of successful mobile operations turned storefront. It was well-deserved due to the unique flavors that you get here. There was plenty of seating on the ginormous park bench tables. Decor was a bit bland and screamed Eat your stuff and Get outta here, but the service was friendly and helpful for a first-timer. Vampiro Asada with Fried Egg -- I have to say, the fried egg was a definite must. It was a bit smaller than I thought for the price and a perfect meal would consist of 2 of these, but I only got 1 since I was on the run. The garlic aioli made this different from most other Mexican food joints and was utterly flavorful. I was expecting a garlic rush, but it wasn't like that. Of the selection of sauces, I enjoyed the habanero sauce most of all and was a perfect compliment to any Mexican food. I'll have to come back and try the other stuff here.
