34 years ago from today, on Nov. 10th 1983, Microsoft announced a GUI addon to MSDOS named "Windows". In fact, there where just a few ideas to clone the Apple Lisa GUI, which was already available in 1983. MS-Windows needed another two years until the relase 1.0 was available and another seven years until 3.1, the first "true" GUI OS.
