F*ck yo fitness New Years resolution
I’ve been going to the gym for just over a year. I have a nice simple routine which take me a little over an hour. I recognize many of the gym regulars.
The New Year has screwed my routine up. How? The gym is packed with people who made fitness their new year’s resolution. Tons of new people have joined the gym. And they annoy me. A lot. Why?
Since the gym is more crowded and I have to wait for weight stations, it takes about two hours to do my work out. People are everywhere. It’s hotter. Most of the new people have no idea what they are doing, so they take forever when using the weights. Most appear to have no plan. They just wander from station to station lifting whatever weight they feel comfortable lifting.
Interestingly, I’m all for new people going to the gym. I think it’s one of the best things anyone could do with their time. I’ve even taken several friends to the gym this year to teach them what I know and to try to get them started on a plan. But I still hate these new people.
It would be different if these people became serious and actually became more fit. But I have to spend way more time at the gym waiting, knowing damn well that all most all these new people will be gone by March. And they not be any more fit.
Thus, I hate.
