The Melting Pot is THE most fun and unique restaurant in the Troy area.

Located right off of I-75, near The Somerset Mall, and only 15 minutes from downtown Detroit, we are the area’s premiere fondue restaurant. Not your typical fine dining destination, the Melting Pot is the perfect spot for a romantic evening, birthday, anniversary, or group celebration.

You won’t find anything as unique as our multi-course fondue experience among all the restaurants in Troy, MI. Most guests start their meal with one of our creamy cheese fondues, followed by a customizable entrée featuring the likes of chicken, steak and seafood. No one can leave the Melting Pot without dipping in to one of our decadent chocolate fondues. We also offer a variety of freshly prepared salads, too.

We provide options for those following gluten free and vegetarian diets.

For ten years, we have been voted by our guests as one of the best restaurants in Troy. Make your lunch or dinner reservation today to find out why.

I've only been here once with my girlfriend for our first year anniversary, but the experience was great. The waiter was incredibly kind and entertaining, the food very good and fun to fondue. I look forward to going there again soon.

This may have been some strange occurrence, as the other reviews are all seemingly positive, but my girlfriend and I had the most awful service on our date night, of any restaurant either of us have ever been to. I work out of state and travel often, so I tend to eat out frequently. Neither of us had ever been to The Melting Pot, so we decided to try it. I called that morning to ask if reservations were needed. The woman on the phone suggested that I make reservations and scheduled a table for two at 8 pm. We arrived at 7:50 and then watched as table after table were being sat. At 8:30 I finally asked the hostess if she could provide an estimate on when we would be seated, and also if they had a bar we could wait at, while having a drink. She estimated another 20 minutes. My girlfriend and I walked towards the bar, and to my amazement, even with the crowded entrance, the bar was completely empty and covered in dirty glasses. I'm surprised that no one suggested to the other customers to wait there, but seeing how filthy it was, I understand. We pulled some chairs out while asking the bartender if we could sit and have a drink while we waited. He did not even greet us, as we seemed to inconvenience him and interrupt the hockey game on television. He started grabbing the glasses and putting them in the dishwasher. The only time he seemed polite at all, was after running my card and leaving the receipt for me to sign and leave gratuity. The hostess asked if we would like to remain at the bar and have the bartender serve us, to which my girlfriend promptly declined, as our service had been bad enough up to this point. She simply wanted a nice dinner for "date night" which seemed to be an impossible task here. We agreed that if we were not sat before finishing our drinks, that we would leave and go elsewhere. Around 8:45 we were sat at a table, and a few minutes later, the bartender greeted us, preempting the conversation with the fact that he was simply explaining the menu, and that another server would be with us. A few minutes later, the other server had arrived. I ordered another drink and we placed the order for the first course, as we were both very hungry and it was over an hour from our reservation time. To sum up the rest of the night, my drink came about 30 minutes later, and dinner over an hour after. We finally were able to eat the main course around 10:20. That is over two hours from the reservation time, and I was only able to get two drinks during all of this (our server said the bartender was being slow, which seems like an excuse, as not many people were there at this point). I also did not understand why we could go 20 minutes without even seeing our server, yet the table next to us had theirs stop by often to check on them. I asked for the bill and we took dessert to go, as our "date night" was cut short by the sheer length of time we were at The Melting Pot, due to the awful service. When leaving, at nearly 11, we noticed that the restaurant was basically empty. Neither of us could figure out why everything took so long. For a restaurant that costs as much as this place, I have certain expectations set and the service here was by far worse than any place I have ever visited. It the worst dining experience that either of us have ever had, and left us to not have any time afterwards, empty stomachs, and an extremely negative view on the Melting Pot. Very very disappointing.

Four of us went tonight to celebrate a birthday. We used our Entertainment Book Coupons and spent more than $200 with each of us having the four course meal and a couple of drinks. We got to sit in a room that had two tables, one for us, the other for a bunch of teenagers. The waiter was pleasant and explained everything to us and was usually prompt getting back to us. It took about 2.5 hours for the meal. There was no blaring loud music playing. The cheese course was the most filling, but it seemed like cheese on bread, nothing to write home about. It came with a tiny dish of vegetables that looked like they came from a Gordon's frozen bag. The spinach salad I had was overpowering with the dressing, I didn't finish it, but the onions on it were good. The meat tray was smaller than I expected, but there were lots of sauces to try. To bad they are not labeled what sauce is for what, but I was adventurous and tried most of them. The desert course was good, but the chocolate seemed thinner and colder than I expected. I didn't like that you had to order the same pot for two people, but the menu is all individual. I'd prefer the variety of each for his own and tasting a bite or two of your table-mate's. If it were $100 for the four of us, I'd give it 5 stars, but for this much, I'll buy a couple fondue pots and have dinner at our house next year.

This was honestly the worst dining experience I've ever had. I made birthday reservations for four for 8:15. Around 8:45 we were seated and asked our waiter for suggestions as to what we could order that would allow us to still make our next reservation for a 10pm comedy show (since at this point we had already lost 30 minutes of dining time). He said we would be perfectly okay to order the 4 course meal and be out the door by 9:30. We all decided collectively to go ala carte (only ordering 2 cheeses and an entrée each) just in case. Everyone at the table ordered water and I also asked for a glass of wine. My wine was delivered about 10 minutes later, but no water. We inquired again about the waters when he came back with our cheese fondue. After placing the ingredients in and giving us our vegetables, bread and apples to dip he left. We realized then that we had no plates, no skewers and water. A manager came by to ask how our experience was going and we expressed the things that were missing. Again the waiter comes back, with no water, to ask us if we're ready to order. At this point it's getting close to 9:15 and we're really concerned about our timeline. We all order our entrees (which the waiter assured us would be out quickly since, after all, it is delivered raw) as the manager shows up with our water and other missing items apologizing repeatedly. Our entrees were delivered at 9:40 and we ended up taking most of our raw food to go and were thankful we didn't decide to order the 4 course that was suggested. The worst part for me was the waiter giving us a complimentary dessert card for our next visit. We paid over $125 for late seating, terrible service and a container of raw food only to be given a card that is meant to guarantee them future business? We left the card on the table and will not be returning. I've never left a bad review for a business before, but in my opinion this one was more than deserved.

I went there for a friend's birthday, I have never heard of this place before that. It's pretty expensive and you cook your own food. My thought is what did I just pay for if I cooked it? Our server was a pompous ass and very condescending. A friend of mine had a peanut allergy so we asked a lot of questions in regards to that and the server just had an attitude about it. Sorry he's deathly allergic to peanuts. Sheesh. I can't remember his name but he's from Syracuse and had dark hair. Anyway, if you like paying high prices to cook your own food knock yourself out and go to this place. I won't do it again. Service was also slow and when two more guests arrived the server's face just looked unhappy. Do you not like your job? I suggest you suck it up and get through the shift or find something else.
