The Melting Pot is THE most fun and unique restaurant in the Troy area.

Located right off of I-75, near The Somerset Mall, and only 15 minutes from downtown Detroit, we are the area’s premiere fondue restaurant. Not your typical fine dining destination, the Melting Pot is the perfect spot for a romantic evening, birthday, anniversary, or group celebration.

You won’t find anything as unique as our multi-course fondue experience among all the restaurants in Troy, MI. Most guests start their meal with one of our creamy cheese fondues, followed by a customizable entrée featuring the likes of chicken, steak and seafood. No one can leave the Melting Pot without dipping in to one of our decadent chocolate fondues. We also offer a variety of freshly prepared salads, too.

We provide options for those following gluten free and vegetarian diets.

For ten years, we have been voted by our guests as one of the best restaurants in Troy. Make your lunch or dinner reservation today to find out why.

Service was good and staff was attentive. Drinks were pretty good. The food was mediocre. The cheese for the fondue (we tried 2 types) was very bland. The dulce de leche fondue was actually too salty, even for me. Salads were pretty good. It's interesting for a one-time thing, I suppose, but after having had good cheese fondue at a french restaurant, this place was really disappointing. I'm probably judging a bit too harshly, as I'm sure most peole go for the experience of cooking their own food, but I'm basing it off of the food and flavors themselves.

The food was great, the experience was unique and the staff was excellent. Our only complaint was the wait time. The wait time between courses seemed extraordinary. Our meal time was over 2 hours and we took the 4th Course (The Chocolate fondue) home with us.

What a shame! This place may have been all the rage before the "bubble" burst in 2008, but now it's just a leftover novelty from the Dot-com era. You'll find this little fondue museum disappointing, if not revolting! Conveniently located in the lobby of the abandoned City Center building! (It's right next to the ghetto jewelry store selling Pandora bracelet charms.) The crumbling parking lot and "WE BUY GOLD" sign next to the side entrance, should give you a good idea what's in store for the evening! Umm, by the way, that side entrance is locked. Once you slide into the booths, you'll notice that this place is a complete mess. There are mountains of dirty dishes piled up on the tables next to you and they will remain there for the next hour or so. The floor has food bits scattered everywhere and your table top doesn't look much better. Just so you know, the men's lavatory is located on the other side of the lobby outside the restaurant. Make sure you ask for good directions and follow the handwritten signs taped on the walls. My waiter was excellent, but no better than the usual staff at China Buffet. The wait time for your food is very long (which is odd since they serve it uncooked). The food is unremarkable. Meat cooked in boiling broths with too much salt. Corn chips dipped in cheese. Brownies and strawberries dunked in chocolate. You can find all that at Golden Corral. Have a good time! It's about $50.00 (minimum) per person with no drinks and that doesn't include tips.

The food is pretty delicious.... but you have to allot close to 2 hours for a meal here. The service is always friendly... but the dinner "experience" with fondue is a process and takes time.

Good cheese and dessert. I'm not a fan of boiled meats, so prefer to skip the "main courses". The booths are nice and private, so this is a great place for a quiet date.

Food was great! Food was excellent!!! But the WAIT TIME and the SERVICE was HORRIBLE and me an my husband will NEVER go back. When we FINALLY got to our table after an hour (even though we made a reservation) we agreed that we would get desert. Let me put it this way, by the time we were done with our salad we decided we'd skip the desert and go to Kroger, pick up some ice cream and eat it at home. I could go on and on about the experience and how poorly we were treated. Brandy was our waitress and had she checked her attitude at the door maybe we would consider going back. But living 30 minutes from this place, we will not be wasting our time. I'm not sure if there are any other Melting Pot's in the area, if it is a different location I would be willing to maybe try it again because the food was tasty. But I will not be wasting my time or money going back to this Troy location. Last but not least, you cook your own food.... Weird, but at least it tasted good. Not worth $75 bucks plus tip though.
