This informational webinar on The Psychology of Climate Change, is a 12-week online course via Gaia Psychology: http://www.gaiapsychology.org/courses/psychology-of-climate-change-i/.

This course covers:

1. An overview of how we consume fossil fuel and renewable sources of energy
2. An understanding of the implications and complications of moving towards 100% renewable energy
3. Popular arguments of climate change skeptics, as well as climate change radicals
4. The role of the middle 80% in fostering new energy consumption habits and sources
5. Energy solutions
6. The influential groups of individuals pushing for global progress towards green energy use
7. Popular theories around intention, including placebo, the Asclepian paradigm, and others
8. The means and attitudes necessary to evoke global changes necessary to quell global warming.

This course teaches the participant foundational knowledge, necessary to carry informed dialogue on climate change, particularly information which can lend itself to changing policy, policy makers minds', as well as your neighbors'. Group support allows the development of a personal plan for expanding learning from the courses into personal, professional, and global practices.

This is a free, personalized workshop that includes sample course materials and direct communication with instructor, Olga Shugurova. It serves a preview of Gaia Psychology's Ecopsychological Writing courses and Ecopsychological Writing Certification. Ms. Shugurova is a senior course instructor, psychotherapist consultant, counsellor for sustainability, and published author and poet. 

Ecopsychological Writing Certification is the only program in the world that addresses the synthesis of studies for ecological and psychological dimensions of sustainability in practice, theory and development. Ecopsychological Writing Certification and Courses in Natural Psychology are meant to bring health and well-being to individuals, families, communities, and organizations through a cultivation of a cultural knowledge. Introduction

Ms. Thompson developed the concept of Ecoemotional Intelligence (EEQ) and is the Founding Director of Gaia Psychology and the Gaia Psychology Foundation.

The mission of Gaia Psychology is to create a global, organic emotional healthcare system that mirrors a respect for humanity and guardianship of planet Earth by offering international, online education and workshops in Ecoemotional Intelligence to individuals, professionals, and organizations.

She is a dynamic speaker and educator dedicated to teaching how consciously reconnecting with Mother Nature restores human emotional flourishing.

She was an award winning faculty member at Bryan College in Arkansas where she taught 'Thought Patterns for a Successful Career' courses with foundations in cognitive psychology, social learning theory, and positive psychology.

Ms. Thompson holds Bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and counseling/human services from Limestone College. She completed graduate studies in clinical psychology at The Citadel Graduate School and in clinical counseling at Webster Graduate University. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in organic psychology at the Institute of Global Education and Akamai University.
