Finally you can also see how polluted the air in Shanghai really is, thanks to hourly tweets from a device set up by the US Consulate in downtown Shanghai!
A couple of months ago I wrote an article on air pollution in Shanghai, and afterward I received quite some mails from people planning to move here who got

I spoke at this event last week in The Netherlands. Excellent conference and great the a company like Ricoh took the initiative to organize this. Short compilation of the conference, I am also in it (after about 1:30 min I think).

Excellent piece on O'Reilly Radar about what Google+ could become: the social backbone of the Internet. Something Facebook can never be because of it's walled garden approach and the asymmetry of its friending system. Next to that for Google owning the social graph is not essential for its core business. They even have an incentive to open up as much as possible so that they can better organize the world's data. I am quite excited about this!

Google+ is the rapidly growing seed of a web-wide social backbone, and the catalyst for the ultimate uniting of the social graph.

With the exception of 25-50% of the world without access for many different reasons. But, yes I agree google will easily have the numbers to beat facebook and twitter both.

Part of interview that Sarah Lacy did with Rogeer McNamee about what Zynga should do with its $1.8 billion in cash. He gets it when he says "(they will) buy things that are not so beholden to Facebook". Fully agree, that's the biggest weakness of Zynga, their Zynga.com strategy seems to be a failure and they are still completely rely on Facebook.

I experienced a lot of things over the past 16 years of business travel all over the world, but what happened today for sure makes it into the top 3 of strange experiences. Welcome to Russia!

Exciting day ahead in NYC for the Tudou IPO! Picture: Gary doing his first TV interview of the day at the NASDAQ. I happened to run by there and saw him sitting in the glass studio on Times Square with a wall covered with Tudou logos behind him.

Typhoon Mufia might be on its way to Shanghai... At least it will bring some relief from the Shanghai summer heat.

After not being on Google+ for a week I realise a lot of my friends have started posting here instead of (or next to) Facebook. I am a bit behind in adding friends here, should spend some time on that over the next days.
