Americans Are 25 Times More Likely To Be Murdered With A Firearm Than People From Other Developed Countries.

http://www.iflscience.com/editors-blog/americans-are-25-times-more-likely-be-murdered-firearm-those-other-developed-countries
The debate over whether the right to bear arms protects or harms the American population is unlikely to be resolved any time soon. However, a new study presents some cold, hard facts that paint a pretty clear picture of the damage that guns are doing across the country.

We all know that the stuff you get taught in school isn’t necessarily the complete truth. Sometimes, it’s easier to describe science and other subjects to younger audiences by omitting the more complicated details, but what are some of the biggest fibs you get told during your school years? Did Thomas Edison really invent the lightbulb? Is there actually no gravity in space? Find out in this quick video from Alltime10s.

They could've said the truth no harm would've occurred. There're no excuses to continue those lies.

Is there a way to send a private message on G+? Not a hangout, I don't want to chat., I don't want video or anything, I just want to send a private message and have them notified that a message has been sent.

A good debunking of the anti-science "GM mosquitoes caused Zika" hysteria. Perpetuating this kind of anti-science mentality is literally the worse thing one could do at this point. It's akin to telling people "Water causes fire!", when their town is on fire.

via +Joanne Manaster
Conspiracy theorists claim that Oxitec's GM mosquitoes are directly to blame for the Zika outbreak. They're really, unequivocally wrong.

How Shakespeare Spoke (on BBC Radio 4 - 28 min).
It wasn't in the received pronunciation (RP) in which it is usually performed. A few performances have been done in original pronunciation (OP) but it is very rare. To me it sounds a bit like a cross between Yorkshire and Jamaican. OP reveals rhymes in Shakespeare's work that RP doesn't, it reveals new puns too.

Forget Laurence Olivier and Peggy Ashcroft, Al Pacino and Judi Dench. To take us back to Shakespeare's own time Michael Rosen and Dr Laura Wright hear Shakespeare as he himself would have spoken. The original, unvarnished version from linguist David Crystal and actor Ben Crystal. They look at the fashion for Original Pronunciation and ask what it can tell us about how we speak now.Michael and Laura perform some of Shakespeare's best known work in...

We already knew the claim that the MMR vaccine caused autism was spurious, a lie perpetrated by The Daily Mail who reported bogus claims made by one person and made no attempt to check the claims for truth or evidence. However, some fuckwits have clung to the fallacy and refused to inoculate their kids, to the detriment of so many. These people were apparently too stupid to believe that The Daily Mail was spreading nonsense, despite the 'medical expert' who made the MMR/autism claim having subsequently been shown to be a charlatan who just made it up with no evidence at all.
However, these fools were deluded enough to want to prove that MMR caused autism, despite their having been no proper evidence for the claim in the first place. They funded some long term research that has now presented its findings and, to the surprise of no one who is not a Daily Mail trusting idiot, the research found absolutely no link between vaccinations and autism. None at all. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
I wonder if those fools will come to their senses now or will they stubbornly and stupidly ignore this fact too? Some folk seem to want vaccinations to be to blame. Some people long for conspiracies. Some people are idiots. Only idiots trust what they read the Daily Mail.

It's sad for the kids to have such parents. Recently, I saw a polio victim in the US, her parents messed her up.

Who are the idiots needing to be warned not to use these things? Who the fuck thinks there is a need to 'detox' wombs? Sheesh. The world is full of morons and companies cashing in on them.
http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/doctors-have-strongly-warned-against-putting-herb-balls-detox-their-wombs
Doctors and health experts have strongly warned against using a “womb detox” product that has recently caught attention online. Embrace Pangaea, a herbal and holistic product online company based in the United States, has been selling small bags of herbs, designed to be inserted into the vagina to “cleanse the womb and return it to a balance state.” The bags contain a mix of perfumed herbs such as Mothersworth, Angelica, Borneol, Rhizoma and Cnid...

Nice advertising for the product and the company. I would delete the post since I would never have heard of it if it wasn't posted in my stream.

The article is written in such a way that gives even in the packaging and pricing offerings and of course where to get it.
