This P2P hangout will explore university museums as teaching institutions and look at models and programs that embrace this mission. The session will be moderated by Jessica Sack, Jan and Frederick Mayer Senior Associate Curator of Public Education, and include Horace Ballard, Curator of Education at Birmingham Museum of Art ( formerly at the RISD Museum) and Susy Bielak, Associate Director of Engagement/Curator of Public Practice.

Get to know Viewfinder, a new platform for peer-reviewed publishing in the Museum Education field! Members of the Viewfinder Editorial Board will describe this pilot project and its role in Museum Education. Celebrating the release of Viewfinder's inaugural issue on Leadership in Museum Education, contributing authors will discuss their ideas of leadership, and consider how we all can become leaders. We’ll also share how you can get involved with Viewfinder.
 
The Viewfinder Editorial Board is composed of Sara Egan (School Partnership Manager, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum), Emily Jennings (Manager of School and Teacher Programs, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco), and Chelsea Emelie Kelly (Youth Corps Coordinator, Park Avenue Armory). Contributing authors for Viewfinder Issue 1: Leadership in Museum Education are Deborah B. Reeve (Executive Director, NAEA), Ami Davis (Director of Education and Community Partnerships, Monterey Museum of Art), and Rachel Ropeik (Manager of Public Engagement, Guggenheim Museum).
