I wrote a thing! (not surprising)

It's about #comics! (surprising!)
I didn't read comic books growing up. I read comics – just not the books. Every morning, sleepy eyed and not fully awake, I not so patiently waited for my turn with the funny pages. First they went to my dad, though admittedly he was usually completely done with the newspaper before I even got ...

I wrote about scorpions. NOT JUST WILLINGLY BUT ENTHUSIASTICALLY! They protect books.
A few days ago, I would have named an otter as my patronus, but the times have changed, and I have a new favorite animal to claim as shield-bearer. Meet the pseudoscorpion,…

Excellent bookstore with great staff (including Tiny), a great selection and a real friendly neighborhood feel. I always try to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood.

Service is always great and fast. The air conditioning is enough to make me yearn for jeans even in July. And it's consistently too loud in the music department and the kid department. I'd rather hit a local place instead.

I've been to a number of shows at UCB East and it's always fun. The cash-only thing is a pain at first but now I come prepared. The bartenders are always nice, the shows are always great, and I always have fun.

This is my new favorite place. The food is amazing, the bartenders are professional and friendly, and I always have a great time. My one and only complaint is that it's cash only so there are definitely moments in my monthly budget where it's just not an option.

This is a true neighborhood gem. I'm always greeted with a smile. The pastries are to-die-for (seriously the salted chocolate chip cookie is amazing) and the coffee is excellent. Check it out in if you're in the area!

Attended a meet up there and really enjoyed the bar. The drinks were strong, cheap and tasty, and the service was great. Only downside is they only take cash or American Express but there is an ATM on site.
