I loved this restaurant many years ago when it first opened-that was when they only had a beer/wine license and the menu, although small, offered several creative yet simple dishes which were executed to perfection. I'm not sure what happened but now I think it's good, but not great. We went on a crowded Sat. evening and were lucky to get a table for two. We decided to share entrees and had a small green salad, salmon, and Asian noodle stir fry. I bet you're wondering why Asian stir fry was on the menu-I certainly did but since I don't eat meat options were limited-There were no appetizers that appealed to me so we skipped that. The Asian noodles were ok...they were edible and had authentic flavor but it appeared that the dish was offered to get rid of excess veggies in the kitchen. The vegetables and chicken pieces were small and the dish was a bit greasy. If I got them in a Chinese restaurant I'd give them a higher mark. Fish was expertly cooked and fresh-although we asked for rare and it came out medium-but it was very good -it came with fingerling potatoes that weren't worth eating-they were bland and not prepared well. That and the lack of presentation was a disappointment. My $6 green salad consisted of bagged spring green and a house vinaigrette-it was fresh but nothing special and non-memorable dressing. I suppose if I was in the area I would go back but I wouldn't go out of my way nor would I stand and wait (no reservations.) Isabella is a small restaurant, some might say cramped. I've had several memorable dining experiences in similar places but Isabella is not above par

For our last night in town we were in the mood for some pasta and ended here at Isabella. we had the lobster pasta and the duck 2 ways. the lobster pasta with homemade noodles was very good but the duck 2 ways was the star of the night. Highly recommended.
