My wife and I just spent two nights at the Mountain Laurel Inn. It was our first bed and breakfast experience, and how fortunate we are to have chosen this location. The house is amazing ... full of interesting artifacts and history. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic both mornings ... fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. There is a nice outdoor pool here, the only B&B in the area with a pool, and it was clean and refreshing. Kathleen is an engaging host and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall a great first B&B experience for us and I would recommend the Inn to anyone.

This place is perfect if you are looking for something relaxing and cozy. Every room has its own charm, and many of the unique things in the house have some enchanting story that goes along with it, just ask Kathleen or Natalie. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The inn has a swimming pool as well, which is salt water and very "silky". If you try it you really understand the concept of "silky water". To top it all Kathleen is a fantastic cook. Her breakfast is out of this world. She uses fresh ingredients, farm to table kind of deal. One morning we had biscuits with sausage and gravy, eggs benedict and a fruit salad with agave infused whipped cream (all made from scratch of course). She also makes her own butter. One memorable moment was during our breakfast when in the background while enjoying our food we heard this smooth Frank Sinatra-like voice singing on the CD, and come to find out, it was the voice of Kathleen's step father who used to be an opera singer. It was such a nice rendition of "Somewhere over the rainbow" song.
We cannot wait to return in the Fall. We have such nice memories at the Inn.

We stayed in Grandpa's Room and it was lovely. It shares a bathroom with an adjacent room but we ended up having it to ourselves. We chose to eat breakfast our final morning with another couple in the suite across the hall and enjoyed the conversation and the atmosphere. Kathleen was gracious and went out of her way to make us all something for breakfast we would enjoy. We biked the Virginia Creeper one morning and it was very easy to get to the bike rental shops from here.
We would definitely stay here again. Clean and beautifully preserved older home!

This place has it all... a 100+ yr old Victorian home, filled with antiques. The rooms are enormous, the beds really comfortable, and the food is phenomenal! They think of everything... from robes in the rooms, to a fridge of bottled water on the beautiful, screened in upstairs porch, to the snacks available anytime in the breakfast room, to the rocking chairs on the front porch. In addition to all that, Kathleen and Nathalie are exceptionally nice people. They truly want your stay to be spectacular.
Thank you ladies!

My husband and I stayed at Mountain Laurel Inn this year during Trail Days Festival. The Inn was our home away from home. Kathleen, our innkeeper, was friendly in every way and made sure that our stay was the best. Breakfast was delicious and made to our liking. The inn was inviting, clean, and cozy. We plan to visit Damascus again and would love a repeat stay at Mountain Laurel Inn.

Amazing house and amazing service- some of the most hospitable people I have ever met. If you like old houses and you like quiet space to yourself, this is the place for you! Gorgeous architecture with ornate woodwork and one-of-a-kind chotskies, plus home-cooked meals that would make Lagasse blush = The Mountain Laurel Inn. I would recommend this place 10 out of 10 times, can't wait to come back and visit again!

The Mountain Laurel Inn is such a special place. A grand 19th Century house set back from the road in a grove of mature trees. A nostalgic wrap around porch with rocking chairs and flower pots. Kathleen met us with a smile and a heart warming message from home. Ornate American Chestnut crafted wall panels and an eclectic collection of art and objects from generations of world travels fill the large, yet welcoming house. Quiet, comfortable, private space for guests to enjoy. Bright, airy porches and common areas. Warm conversation and hospitality in the perfect doses. Abundant and delicious food prepared with expertise and care! Kathleen and Drew are masters of their craft. Anyone fortunate enough to stay with them at the Mountain Laurel Inn will be better for it.
