Love the Lions
=============

It's hard to believe we may have lost between 70-85% of Africa's lions in the last 50 years. Please support my friends Lion Aid.
www.lionaid.org
In the 1900's there were at least 500.000 lions in Africa!
1960: 200.000 lions
1980:   76.000 lions
2012:   23.000 lions
2013:   17.000 lions
2014:   15.000 lions

I hope so the year the of the LION!!

The lion is an important part of mankind's culture. The lion's existence is interwoven into the very fabric of African folklore and daily life and the iconic images of a lion stalking the savannah, the rasping echo of its roar and the bloodcurdling chill of the animal in full flight are sights and sounds that are, in every sense of the word, irreplaceable.

Elephant family murdered - this is ORGANIZED CRIME not a menace
Kenya has in the recent past seen a surge in the number of elephants and rhinos killed; some 57 elephants and 11 rhinos have been killed since the beginning of this year http://allafrica.com/stories/201404260390.html

Kenya lost 302 elephants and 59 rhinos in 2013 as compared to 2012 when 384 jumbos and 30 rhinos were butchered.

SICK & TIRED of Kenyan journos calling elephant poaching a "menace" 35,000 elephants killed each year - this is ORGANIZED CRIME.

Despite the lions’ symbolic importance throughout the ages, today they are suffering from a silent extinction across Africa and India.  Knowledge of the King of Beasts’ plight is little known.
Since the dawn of man the lion has played an integral role in our lives: symbolically, religiously, culturally, economically and biologically. To lose the lion from our world would be to lose part of our global heritage.

A statistic that surprises many people now is how many wild lions remain in Africa ... #SAVESIMBA

The wild lion population within the next 10 to 15 years unless something dramatic is done about the situation. These figures represent a 95% decline in these predator populations.
