For my serious coffee lovers, this sweet little spot is calling your name to swing by for a perfect cup of coffee. No matter your taste - they have a perfect cup for you. The presentation and the low key vibe here makes a great spot to study, read a book, or catch up with an old friend.

Blacksmith is a meca for coffee nerds. Their food takes it to the next level. This is a fantastic place.

Blacksmith is a great coffee shop whether you’re looking for a place to do some work or meeting up with friends. The baristas are very nice and their coffee is delicious. I usually get the flat white and it is the drink if you’re not looking for a milk heavy latte or an overtly foamy cappuccino. The breakfast and lunch items are also great so you don’t have to leave to find food when lunch time rolls around. For breakfast get the biscuits sausage egg and cheese. You won’t regret it.

Extremely raved about place in the heart of Montrose. Excellent coffee and a giant parking lot. Inside (especially on a cold day) is cramped - so much so that I avoid going there. I never feel like I can relax and enjoy the space. The food selection is good, but small. Not your typical coffee shop food - way more delicious (and expensive!). Go for the biscuits or croissants.

Overrated the coffee was really not that great and customer service was rude especially for someone trying to learn about the local shop and help out the local economy. The only good things is at a great location and neighborhood.

Great coffee and atmosphere. I recommend to get their Vietnamese steak and egg dish.

Blacksmith is owned and run by the people behind Greenway Coffee, so you can rest assured that you're getting the BEST coffee in Houston. They truly have it down to a science -- you can just ask David or Ecky about where they source their beans, how they roast them, how they make sure they have good water at the right temperature, etc. It's eye-opening! The decor is rustic minimalist with quite a bit of seating for the space, and they have a small shaded outdoor patio. The food menu is small, too, but it aims for -- and hits spot on -- quality over quantity: I highly recommend the homemade biscuit or the breakfast skillet. And if you find yourself hanging out there all day and want more, it's just a short walk to Blacksmith's friends Hay Merchant or Underbelly across the street for dinner and adult beverages (re: alcohol).
