Airport serving the Washington D.C. area, with a main terminal designed by Eero Saarinen.- Google
"Overall, has some great airlines (JetBlue, Virgin America), though."
"Completely unacceptable waiting times to pass through passport control."

crappy crappy airport... it's crappy. there is more organization in a child's playroom. the flights get cancelled people are running around because they make it impossible to reach your gate on time. I will not be flying through here again. united customer service suck a fat one. zero compassion. Not a care in the world.

Departure: United put my luggage on a later flight with no explanation and then didn't get it delivered to me until late the next day at my destination. No fun going to work in what you traveled and slept in. Arrival: Arrived 9:00 on a Sunday night. There was a sign pointing upstairs to head back to parking garage and then absolutely no signs once you were on the top level. Being late on a Sunday there was no one to ask to point me in the right direction. I parked as close as I could but felt very uncomfortable walking back to garage by myself outside at night. Parked on the second floor of garage which did not know there is only a second floor for half of the garage. Tried to take stairs down one level to car but level 2 is not there. Tried to take elevator and there is no button for level 2. A sign saying this elevator does not go to level 2 and you need to walk down to next section to enter level 2 would have been very helpful. I was getting a little panicky trying to figure out how to get to my car and not wanting to roam around the empty parking garage by myself at night. I will be going to BWI or DCA next time.

I love this airport, less crowded than BWI, and way more sophisticated than National. Yeah, it's huge, get over it

This is probably one of the worst designed airports I've ever traveled thru. When you deplane, it can take you up to 30 minutes just to get to the exit door of the airport. The transit system is ridiculous -- after going thru security, you have to descend 3 or 4 stories to get to the train which takes you to the gates. Then you go back up 3-4 stories. It sounds fine in theory, but in practice, unless you check all your bags, and carry nothing but a ticket, it's a huge hassle. I've been thru at least 30 airports in the US and a dozen overseas. Dulles and Atlanta take the take for worst design, Denver takes the cake for oddest. There is a reason business at Dulles is going down (while Reagan National and BWI are going up). Flyers like me who know avoid Dulles like the plague.

Worst airport I have ever been to. Got my boarding pass. After a walk of about one mile to my gate, I was advised the gate had changed. This all in about 15 minutes. This walk was even further. This was a United flight.

Hate it. Way too big for what it serves. Like someone in DC is creating the illusion that it needs to be so big while the reality is you don't see more than 100 people at any time. Takes 30 minutes to walk/train from check-in to a gate. Inefficient. Slow. Pointless.

If several international flights arrive close together then passport control backs up for hours. And there's a good reason the "people carrier" system is unique...
