The Worst Airport I have ever been to in My Life. On Saturday I flew in From Philly, had to walk miles to my connecting Flight. Got on Flight sat on the tarmac 1 1/2 hours, then told to get off and return to terminal.An hour later wer were told the flight was cancelled. Went miles to get too ticketing after a 2 1/2 hour wait in Line United told me they werent responsible the Airport closed because of a problem. The airport was closed but they were still checking in Bags, trying to get those baggage fees. Went to the Airport customer service "Closed"Workers were rude and no one wanted to Help. Decided to Rent a car Prices were Gouged a 1 day Economy rental was over $200.00 not one but all of them. Had my wife online Reservation they wouldnt let me rent because I didnt have another credit card with my Name on it. Its already Payed For online and Im a Preferred Customer. Not one but all the Rentals. Stayed over in the Marriot Congrats to them They were Awesome and no Price Gouging. Next morning Got on a Bus and drove for an hour to Amtrak. They treated me well. A 20 minute layover ended up costing $100.00s and a Day From Hell

Flew SFO-IAD-CAE on Wednesday. My flight from sf got into terminal C and my flight to CAE left from terminal A. I had 2 hours to connect but only needed about 10 minutes. From C, it is a short walk to the underground train that takes you to A. Very good signs, did not get lost at all. The airport is very busy, but lots of shops and clean bathrooms. Both flights were on time and my bags reached CAE on time as well.

DON'T FLY THROUGH HERE!! Rude and cruel staff. Incredibly inefficient. Takes THREE HOURS to get through if you are coming in on an international flight. One hour to get your bags off the plane. One to get through passport control. One to get through the scanners, of which there are only three for thousands of people.

This is probably one of the worst designed airports I've ever traveled thru. When you deplane, it can take you up to 30 minutes just to get to the exit door of the airport. The transit system is ridiculous -- after going thru security, you have to descend 3 or 4 stories to get to the train which takes you to the gates. Then you go back up 3-4 stories. It sounds fine in theory, but in practice, unless you check all your bags, and carry nothing but a ticket, it's a huge hassle. I've been thru at least 30 airports in the US and a dozen overseas. Dulles and Atlanta take the take for worst design, Denver takes the cake for oddest. There is a reason business at Dulles is going down (while Reagan National and BWI are going up). Flyers like me who know avoid Dulles like the plague.

I have yet to find an airport that i love, but IAD is my preferred port in the DC area. Parking is usually good and the transportation system is consistent. It's clean but could be more comfortable. It is big so plan enough time to move around.

Sometime between 2012 and 2013 I was on a flight from Columbia SC to Washington while in route to Baghdad. Prior to the flight I had felt ill but was unable to miss the flight because I worked in Iraq. The flight had been smooth and as we approached for landing and the wheels were coming I began vomiting and not having a emesis bag I tried my best to keep it down and even swallowing it several time. Each episode became more forceful than the last and as we touched down I projectile vomited on myself, the seat and possibly the person in front of me. I turned to the person next to me and said move! they hesitated and I said MOVE again. I made it to the restroom with an accordion door and projectile vomited all over the wall and toilet. As this was happening the person in the seat near the restroom was quickly trying to close the door behind me and then came the diarrhea. I had several episode of diarrhea as I sat on the vomit soaked toilet. I was a complete mess covered in vomit and diarrhea but I was able to make it to the family restroom in the terminal and by the grace of God my wife made me pack a change of clothes. This is a 100% true story and I would like to apologize to ever one that was affected by this.

crappy crappy airport... it's crappy. there is more organization in a child's playroom. the flights get cancelled people are running around because they make it impossible to reach your gate on time. I will not be flying through here again. united customer service suck a fat one. zero compassion. Not a care in the world.

I arrived at the airport 40 minutes before my flight, waited in line to check in through Delta. When I tried checkin in I was told I was too late to get my boarding pass. The only option I was given was to miss my flight and go back where I came from. I will only be using Reagen international from now on.
